Get the idea down small and make sure it works then details at a larger size. Refine as I go. Pencil stage is just about done at this point. I love drawing this book. Comics are awesome. #comicbook #art #draw ✍️✏️🖋️😁🤘

Having to reprint some comics because I sold through most of my stock at a convention is a good problem to have. Having to reformat all the pages in a 44 page by .015 of an inch because I had to switch printers is less fun.

It’s about time for a rumble. The Strider issue 4 page 1 pencils in progress. Comics are awesome. ✍️✏️🖋️😁🤘 #comicbook #art #draw

In The Strider #2 I wanted to try a split panel page where the focus shifted from the top and bottom panels. Like a camera switching from background to foreground. The catch was no digitally applied blurring effect. No tricks other than scribbles. Comics are awesome. ✍️✏️🖋️😁🤘 #art #draw #comicbook

People have successfully bid as much as $1,000 and as little as $300, but the average bid comes in at $500. Characters must be Kirby creations or characters Kirby had a significant association with. I will take the top 9 bids. I will update you on the status of your bid until you win or drop out.

Winning bids will go directly to either @heroinitiative.bsky.social or @jackkirbymuseum.bsky.social, but please wait until I declare you one of the final 9. Don't fret. I'll let you know. Sketches are 11x14, penciled by me and inked by me or one of my regular inkers. DMs open here and the bad place.

The printer for The Strider #3 is no longer taking orders. I got the ball rolling with a new printer super fast and luckily they use the same format sizes. Books got paid for and production immediately gets rolling. Made it work without losing a single day. Crush every problem. Comics are awesome.

Ok finished my first ever read of Dark Phoenix Saga. New to that X era. I’ve read plenty of Claremont but never got around to Byrne. I loved reading his pages and seeing how much influence he had on guys like Lee and McFarlane.

I collect "Bad Byrne" stories like a hobo collects empty pint bottles. I cannot get enough of Ol' John's arrogant antics. That said, since it is the man's birthday, here are two true stories from the time I met him at a con in OKC in... '81 or '82. First, he awarded me a No-Prize at his panel.

When drawing hand to hand combat alternating the right and left side with your punches and kicks moves the action along. It adds tons of movement and power. Examples: The Strider #1 & Working Class Wizards #5 😁✍️✏️🖋️🤘 #art #draw #comicbook

When you write for a movie screen rather than a comic page dialogue doesn’t take up space on the screen. The cinematographer isn’t saying “dang how am I going to fit all these words in the shot?”

Pretty proud of the progress I’ve made. While I’m not selling a ton of comics I write, draw, letter and run these campaigns on my own. It’s been a big learning curve moving over to Kickstarter. The results have varied but I’ve learned a ton on each go. 😁✍️✏️🖋️🤘 16 days to go!👇link below #comic
