We stand proudly and in solidarity with the more than 4,000 union nurses of the Massachusetts Nurses Association at Brigham and Women's Hospital in their fight for a fair contract. These nurses are asking for what every worker deserves: staffing that keeps patients safe, health insurance they can afford, and wages that keep up with the cost of living. They do not want to strike. They want to be at the bedside. We call on Mass General Brigham to negotiate in good faith and do the work necessary to avert a strike.
The labor movement and the fight for LGBTQ+ rights are one and the same, and that bond has deep roots. In the 1970s, when Teamsters in San Francisco were boycotting Coors beer, Harvey Milk organized the gay bars of the Castro to pull Coors from their taps, and in return the union agreed to hire openly gay drivers. Neither group won alone. They won by fighting together for their own rights and the rights of others. To the nurses of the Brigham: we thank you for carrying on the fight for all workers, and we stand shoulder to shoulder with you against corporations that leave everyday people behind.

Stonewall Democrats on the Massachusetts Elections
Massachusetts voters sent a resounding and unmistakable message to any candidate who thinks our rights are up for debate or negotiable: they are not. Candidates who stand up for trans kids and defend the rights of LGBTQ+ Americans can win, and win decisively.
Our safety and our dignity are not bargaining chips, and any candidate who treats them that way should expect to lose our support. Candidates with a clear track record of fighting for every member of our community will earn our support. That means supporting the policies that directly impact us: healthcare access, HIV/STI prevention and treatment, job and housing protections, elder services, and the freedom to marry and raise families without interference. These issues shape how LGBTQ+ Americans live, grow old, build families, and contribute our best to this country.

I thought we were electing a Senator for MASSACHUSETTS who represents our values, not someone triangulating for a future presidential run. This is calculated and Seth Moulton has no principles.

Mr. Moulton urged Massachusetts
Democrats to think beyond their state lines.
He said the state should elect a senator who could appeal to the rest of the country to help the party build a governing majority in Washington.
He argued that it would not advance the progressive cause to have the Democratic Party branded as enthusiastically supportive of trans athletes in sports, when polls suggest that the American public believes differently.
"We need to think more about the entire Democratic team, because we're in the minority," Mr. Moulton said. "A lot of politics has become a purity test these days, but I'm not sure that's good for the party or the country. We're a democracy. We should be able to have discussions."

Seth Moulton’s “apology” isn’t an apology. He’s sorry for the backlash, not for what he said, and he seems fine throwing trans kids under the bus. It’s a cold, calculated move to benefit himself at the expense of other people’s rights.

In an interview last week, Mr. Moulton said that despite that apology, he was not sorry for the substance of his earlier remarks. He said that Democrats should acknowledge that voters do not want a full integration of trans athletes into youth sports.

Statement from the National Stonewall Democrats on the Log Cabin Republicans Throwing Trans People Under the Bus
The Log Cabin Republicans have completed their MAGAfication and fully caved to Trump's wishes with an unprincipled and cowardly move that throws trans people under the bus to try to save their own skin. We have seen this before, and it ends the same way every time, because the Republicans who are targeting trans kids and writing this legislation have never drawn the line where Log Cabin is drawing it. Anti-trans legislation was the opening move, not the whole game, and the same coalition is already going after marriage equality, adoption rights, and nondiscrimination protections. Burying your head in the sand doesn't make you safe. It just means you don't see what's coming.
LGB is on the chopping block too. It always was.
We'll keep standing with our trans siblings, and not out of obligation or optics, but because they were standing with us long before anyone thought to ask. They were at Stonewall and in every fight that came after, usually absorbing the worst of it while the rest of us collected the progress. That history is the reason our organization exists, and it's why we'll keep fighting in statehouses, in courtrooms, and at the ballot box. History has a way of sorting this out. Stone walls are still standing centuries later. Log cabins rot from the inside.

Seth Moulton can drop the anti-establishment shtick now that the establishment paper’s endorsed him. Also nobody said Moulton’s a secret Trump ally on trans rights, he just threw trans kids under the bus when it was convenient and took a year to mutter a half assed apology.

"I have two little girls, I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I'm supposed to be afraid to say that," Moulton told The Times.

“Cartoonishly unfair”? No one’s calling Moulton a Trump ally on trans rights. The criticism is that he echoed right-wing talking points about trans kids in sports at the exact moment Democrats needed to hold the line, and it took him over a year to give a scripted “apology.” @bostonglobe.com

Yet on some very critical matters, Moulton - who recently expressed some regret for his 2024 comment - has been a staunch defender of IGBQ rights in the workplace, before the law, and in the military. (He has also voted against a Republican bill to bar federal funds to schools that allow trans athletes to play on girls teams.)
For Markey and his allies to suggest that Moulton is somehow allied with the Trump agenda on trans rights is cartoonishly unfair.

TODAY’S House vote on Marjorie Taylor Greene’s anti-trans bill is a cruel and calculated attack on trans people. It is also an obvious distraction. This was never about protecting anyone. It was about fearmongering and giving MTG another moment in the spotlight.

And we will not forget the Democrats who helped make this happen. By voting yes instead of no or even present, they made trans people less safe and handed Republicans a victory built on attacking our community. That choice matters. If they had held the line, this bill would have failed.

Trans lives are not symbolic. They are real. Votes like this put trans youth and families directly in harm’s way.
This bill is also a blatant distraction from the real damage Republicans are doing. Their refusal to extend ACA tax credits will increase healthcare costs for millions. Instead of owning that harm, they chose to scapegoat trans people.

Now the Senate must act. Senate Democrats must hold firm and kill this bill. No excuses. No deals. No throwing trans people under the bus to appease extremists.
And as for Marjorie Taylor Greene, this is exactly who she is. A chaos agent with no interest in governing, only in attacking vulnerable people for attention.

What's happening to Rep. Nicole Collier in the Texas House is unacceptable. She is being denied the basic right to leave the chamber, threatened with police custody, and placed under constant surveillance simply because she and her colleagues refused to hand Republicans a quorum. That is not how democracy works—it's an abuse of power.
We stand with Rep. Collier and applaud Texas Democrats for refusing to go along with this power grab. Their courage in the face of intimidation deserves recognition and support, and we call on allies to join them at the Capitol and speak out until this ends.
Moments like this remind us of what's at stake. Too often, Black women and LGBTQ+ people are forced to fight unjust battles without enough backup. We cannot allow that to continue.
