Bullshit. This was my nephew’s helmet after his bike crash. He broke his arm and suffered a concussion. The only factors were speed, asphalt, overconfidence, and bad luck. The only MV involved was the ambulance. He’s alive because of this helmet. Helmets work. They’re good. Use them, ffs.

Two things that HAVE to be stressed here: 1. PDs widely adopted Flock’s boilerplate terms of service rather than developing or going to elected officials to develop tailored policies for use; and 2. Those boilerplate terms allow Flock to make “upgrades to system or platform” as they see fit.
2.12 Upgrades to Platform. Flock may, in its sole discretion, make any upgrades to system or platform that it deems necessary or useful to (1) maintain or enhance (a) the quality or delivery of Flock's products or services to its agencies, (b) the competitive strength of, or market for, Flock's products or services, (c) such platform or system's cost efficiency or performance, or (ii) to comply with applicable law. Parties understand that such upgrades are necessary from time to time and will not materially change any terms or conditions within this Agreement.

Surprising myself, it turns out my answer is the original final Calvin and Hobbes strip. “It’s a magical world, Hobbes ol’ buddy… …LET’S GO EXPLORING!”
The final strip of Calvin and Hobbes. The title characters are carrying a toboggan through a scene of freshly fallen snow, remarking on the beauty and opportunity of a world that looks brand-new.

EVERYTHING FAMILIAR HAS DISAPPEARED! THE WORLD LOOKS BRAND-NEW!

I’m intrigued by how much angrier Troy Jackson’s statement was at Platner than Nirav Shah’s. Shah stayed on a first-name basis in his post! Jackson sounds like he wants the voters’ support, Shah like he wants Platner’s.

Google AI is so completely broken that the fact they haven’t taken it down and slinked away in shame over foisting it on users is one of the great mysteries of the business world today.
Google AI stating (correctly) that open carry of firearms is illegal in Connecticut. Google AI stating (incorrectly) that “open carry is generally legal in Connecticut.” The source it cites for that (incorrect) statement actually says the exact opposite.

They said it about Al Smith in ‘28.
"Is this cry of Socialism anything new? Not to a man with my experience. I have heard it raised by the reactionary element of the Republican Party in my own State over a period of a quarter of a century. Every forward-looking, progressive, up-to-date legislative enactment in New York was at some time or another referred to by reactionary Republican leaders as State Socialism.

"I recall vividly to my mind the debate in the Assembly when I was the leader of the Democratic Party on the floor of that house on the question of pensions for widowed mothers. The Republican leader referred to it as paternalism and as Socialism. The Workmen's Compensation Act, enacted by a Democratic Legislature and signed by a Democratic Governor, was referred to as paternalistic and Socialistic. All of the salutary amendments to the factory code intended to promote the health and well being of women and children in industry were decried as being Socialistic and paternalistic.

...The cry of Socialism has been patented by the powerful interests that desire to put a damper on progressive legislation." -Al Smith, 10/24/1928, Boston, MA

He’s talking about a Forever War. Congress refused to rein him in, and now Trump is promising that his illegal war will continue until he gets the regime change he wants. We have basically nobody with us except Israel, and no plan except “make stuff go boom,” and kids are dying. We’re fucked.

Google’s AI is absolutely terrible.
A Google AI result that utterly mangles a passage from Kurt Vonnegut’s “Cat’s Cradle,” even while citing sources that have the passage accurately quoted. The AI says:

This is a quote from Kurt Vonnegut's 1963 novel "Cat's Cradle". It is a calypso sung by the character Bokonon, reflecting the novel's themes of existentialism and absurdity by suggesting humans act out of necessity, often in a confused or messy manner ("muddily").
The full, often-quoted lyrics from Cat's Cradle are:
"We do, doodley do,
doodley do, doodley do,
What we must, muddily must,
muddily must, muddily must;
Muddily do, muddily do,
muddily do, muddily do,
Until we sud-denly die."

This is wrong. The actual lyrics in Cat’s Cradle are:

“We do, doodley do, doodley do, doodely do,
What we must, muddily must, muddily must, muddily must;
Muddily do, muddily do, muddily do,muddily do,
Until we bust, bodily bust, bodily bust, bodily bust.”

The Scouts are cowards and I am ashamed of them.* The national organization’s agreement to abandon Scouts on the trail because Pete Hegseth told them to is inexcusable and, above all, dishonorable. (* - This was also the theme of my Eagle’s Address back in 2001.)
