Late night cat tales. Tribulations of hosting elderly fuzzy gentleman pets. At around 1.30am my furry friend started making a suspicious noice. I couldn’t get out of bed fast enough to investigate. He proceeded to projectile vom all over my work bag and under my desk. He is not one bit sorry.

Enjoyed this too. An education in ornithology and self acceptance. I liked hearing his Cork accent and singsong sentence structure come through off the page. Uncomplicated, unpretentious writing from the heart. Yay!

It’s very efficient how parched plants direct water straight to their roots through wilting their leaves. Less surface area for transpiration but also a convenient funnel shape.

Well my bouquet of beets have yielded approx 20mins of mindful peeling, 10 mins of leaf washing and picking, a lot of stalks (which I composted), and this small jar of pickle. Leaves are wilted for freezer or something else tomorrow

Esa! Sometimes my tortillas are a mess but not this time. 💃🏻. I did my beet leaves separately in case a child might deign to eat any of it.

He was quite suspicious about it as it was cold, but drank it in the end. I have also switched to kitten food as he was crunching kibble in half and leaving bits. Bloody cats. Love them too much.

I feel very intrusive of these tiny creatures domestic lives, they have made their nest here and I have discovered, disturbed and filmed it. I also really want to know what the inside of the welly is like. Do they have little structures like honey bees? Nest material? I am entomologically ignorant.

Very happy about my seed saved (from some unremembered other garden) teasels. They have had little ponds up their stems all spring and now are statuesque to the point of ridiculous. I look forward to thei flowers and the winter seedheads. Yayy.

Once a upon a time I would drive my modified Apé up to the market and painstakingly set up a whole coffee shop out of the back of it. This yellow one has scooter handlebars inside instead of a steering wheel and an organ on the back but essentially samesame.
