If I was a conservative, I'd be less concerned about liberal thought-control in universities and more concerned that educated people seem to have completely rejected my philosophy.

Reform’s ‘Independent’ Donations Inquiry Was Led By The Lawyer Who Defended Donald Trump Over Russian Collusion
Reform UK said its internal inquiry would proceed “independently and without prejudice” yet it was led by a barrister who has previously represented Nigel Farage and Donald Trump

When people's values and beliefs are deeply embedded they rarely shift. Forcing people to confront the reality of how do you remove people without murder gives them pause for thought. Im focusing on Reform and Restore hard liners here.

The practical impossibility needs to be thecreply every time. Those without humanity need to be talked to in their own language.

The backstory: Ukrainian drones struck a Yandex supercomputer facility in Vladimir, taking it out. Suddenly, bot activity in US social media fell by 49%, confirming suspicions that this was the site of a massive Russian influence operation targeting US social media—mostly targeting MAGA.

Just the dumbest collection of halfwit confetti emerging out of that conference. Tax cuts everywhere, paid for with imaginary spending cuts. Huge spending projects with precisely zero utility, except to anchor their 'defence day' narrative. Clowns.

Afternoon @mrjamesob.bsky.social the media all seem to have developed collective amnesia over the fact the Tories released 13,325 prisoners early between 17 October 2023 and 9 September 2024 under their own scheme.

Pupils need consequences” I think we all know that .But you also cannot consequence a pupil into better behaviour. Consequences may address the behaviour but there is more to supporting pupils than consequences alone, lasting improvements come with an understanding it.

Funding largely follows identification, not need. Screen everyone and demand for assessment and top-up would surge into high-needs budgets already in deficit. Without new money, it's the same pot cut thinner. More chn named, less for each, & schools' notional SEND budgets stretched...

Most SEND isn't a condition you can screen for; it's the gap between what a child needs and what's on offer, and that shifts. A screen at 8 would label some, miss others and lengthen waits without adding provision. Better would be teachers who notice and a graduated response that acts fast.

Maybe. Here in the uk this story would be picked up from social media searches by selection boards for jobs which expect reliability and integrity. We have sleazy people too but also realise that some traits are baked in and are not accidental. Politics is a possibility.

Polish soldiers fought with allies in WW2. Some stayed on in the East. Other waves later for seasonal work and then a broader group with skills to get good pay. Most could speak English. Interesting that our perspectives dont coincide. Suffolk born, Norfolk retired. Many places inbetween

Farage, Tice and Lowe all chose deprived coastal towns. Hard to reach by road or rail. Low wage area, high unemployment. Bloody cold winds in winter.

What happened to piloting new systems to test them. Its obvious human observation is different from person to person but trying to create robotic structures is equally problematic. May I suggest accountability by those who are not accountable themselves is asking for trouble.

Coastal towns with declining tourism and increasingly used to house people who are recent immigrants, homeless or the unemployed tend to attract reform parasites. Making things worse by endless doom predictions. Low turn out at council elections make it easy for them.
