~Use your outline/synopsis to see where each scene is in the arc. ~Consider plot & character arc. ~Other elements need to enhance plot and character (voice, mood, theme, tone, etc.) ~Make notes about what needs to be changed. ~Don’t stress about word choice or flow yet! #writingcommunity

For whoever needs to hear it today: the truth is as long as you're continuing to grow, continuing to push forward, and becoming a stronger writer, it's all still part of your success and your path as a writer. #writingcommunity

You want to throw the external conflict at your MC so their internal conflict is triggered. When life is very complicated all of a sudden, and then there are all of these obstacles to overcome, inner demons become louder and stronger. Need more help? Book a consultation! #writingcommunity

If you’ve had conflicting advice, don’t recognize your story, or you’re stuck moving paragraphs around, you may have revised too much. Step away from it. Save deleted scenes and even former drafts in a separate folder in case you need some of it when you come back to your story. #writingcommunity

When you write a book, you’re making a contract between a writer and a reader, and you have to consider if you're going to have a harmful impact upon your reader. Research and a good (human) sensitivity reader are key. You can also check out www.writingtheother.com. #writingcommunity

The best way to show a character arc, in terms of both setting it up and showing the change throughout, is through a character’s reactions. Whether you’re writing in close or distant pov, the reader needs to see how internal reactions tie into the character’s external actions. #writingcommunity

Remember not to jump into structural changes without a plan. ~Check plot points against your beat sheet. ~Create a reverse outline. ~Note where there isn't external conflict/main plot isn't moving forward. ~Create a new outline/synopsis of how scenes need to be reworked. #writingcommunity

Some perfectionist misconceptions: Queries must be perfect to send to an agent. FALSE. Polished? Yes. Comps should be exactly like your book. NOPE! Show where your book fits. An agent gave a form response on your last book, so they’re not going to want this one. INCORRECT. #writing

Many writers understand interiority but struggle applying it to their own story. Interiority= Thoughts Emotions Reactions Visceral responses Helps reader connect to POV character Shares details about plot & character Using combo of showing + telling helps reader understand what’s happening.

Here in the US, even if you don't have health insurance, there are several options for perimenopause HRT that are $20-30 a month. Also I've been calling it gender-affirming care because it makes the conservatives mad.

No matter how good or clean your first draft is, you'll still have to revise. If a particular element is very hard for you, it's ok to leave it out for now. If skipping a scene doesn't feel right, try writing it in short sentences that can even be all "tell" (for now). #writingcommunity

How old were you when you wrote your first story/book? I love stories about lil bb writers. But it's just as valid if you didn't fall in love with writing until you were an adult. We all find pieces of ourselves at different paces, and that's more than okay--it's magical. #writersky
