I made some new stickers before NCECA. I call it meditation with intrusive thoughts. #redpanada #nceca #potterywheel #wheel-thrown #pottery

Oof! That sounds painful in many ways.

Been there, but I didn’t know where it came from either 😕

I played around with making my version of a gaiwan.

A gaiwan, a cup with the lid sitting next to it.

Excited to announce that I’ve finally set up an online shop. I can only have 12 items at a time but I’m loading up the shop this weekend! Watch this space for announcements - they will probably go live next week

There’s looking at the bright side!

Jen Coppens @jencoppens.bsky.social · 23/08/2025

Anytime! Yeah, It was the only way I could think of to glaze the whole thing without ending up with glaze spikes from the stilts.

There’s a hole in the end of the stem so I could hang it in the kiln.

Correction! I use a community kiln so I don’t set it myself -and just learned that the two on the right were likely cone 6 with a 5min hold. So I guess the more cloudy look is from cone 5 and more glassy is cone 6

This glaze combo came out great. Very heavy coat of the textured Turquoise to start. #pottery #ceramicglaze #glazing

This guy’s child has cystic fibrosis- a disease where the life expectancy has doubled in his lifetime thanks to the research he is taking an axe to. Monstrous.

I burned my pinky and needed to keep it clean, so throwing was out, but I had some fun with hand building organic shapes and slip stenciling. #handbuilt #ceramics #pottery #coloredslip

New WIP. Used erosion technic then carved in a bit more and painted with underglaze watercolors

Oh wow, I was so sure it was textured turquoise! It’s wild how glaze can differ between clays and kilns. Beautiful piece.

I mean ancient copper is lovely for a daily, but everyone needs that mug for your Cleopatra felling days right?

He was meant to be a toothbrush holder, but the holes are too thin. Now he menacingly holds a scissors. Try and take it if you dare. #octopus #functionalart #pottery

Thanks! Yes, a single glaze. Amico Potter’s Choice River Rock. The inside is X3 and the outside is more random. One good layer and then random additional strokes,

I’m going with PC River Rock glaze. Hope it turns out 🙏 May the kiln gods bless this choice.

I imagine all founders of world religions would cringe pretty hard at the organizations built up around their worship. It’s sad how grace is abandoned and hypocritical social policy is forged.
