We end up causing even more harm in the long run. Because every neurotic behavior we developed through our life comes wout at some point, often time unconsciously and subconsciously. It's why a lot of parents feel taken aback when their child tells them they were harmed while beign raised by them.

Yes I have indeed. It was a very painful process. Also abandoment isn't just physical. If a child chooses to estrange themselves from a parent it's typically because there was emotional abandonment/neglect/lack of emotional maturity long before the child chooses to estrange themselves.

ESPECIALLY if the community is incapable of respecting boundaries, unwilling to engage in therapy/mental health work, and uncompromising when it comes to accepting the other person fully in their authenticity (as in authentic emotional expression, identity, etc. All rooted in responsiveness)
