A minor update to my #Playdate game "Sound Mind" that's still hugely satisfying: I finally replaced the placeholder animations for the bookcases. Keen-eyed viewers will notice that the secret passages create a space that doesn't make sense, but that's okay because the game doesn't make sense.

There's an era of games I think of as the 'Navi tutorial' era when tutorials took way too long to read because they didn't let you figure things out. It's usually a character serving as a tutorial too. This trend reversed and modern games are more tolerable. I don't know when the peak was.

Have been busy polishing my GBC game over the past few weeks! Points are added now (longer slimes = more points!), and thanks to sub maps, the field is updating much quicker. :) Also happy with the Retry/Quit menu, it turned out to be a huge time saver during testing! #gbstudio #gbc #gameboy
