I went to an old, dear friend's house for dinner tonight and- to my complete shock - he gave me a gargoyle from The Haunted Mansion that was made from the original 1969 mold by a (very) long time Disney Imagineer decades ago. Bolted into the wall and ride-accurate light bulb photos to come soon. 😈😀

It was! It looked and sounded incredible. Cameron even sat down and watched it with us! The host asked beforehand how many people had never seen it before and a surprising amount hadn’t. It was SO MUCH FUN watching it that way. The audience was cheering and laughing through the whole thing.

I surprised The Lady by taking her to a 70mm screening of one of her favorite movies-- "Aliens"-- at the newly re-opened Village Theater. Before the movie started, we were told by the host that an "Aliens" historian was going to come in to talk about it and it turned out to be this big 'ole nerd...

All you need to know about QT’s vision for any kind of film preservation is right there at The Vista. He charges people for prints that are beyond unwatchable. He took a once beautiful theater that was brimming with community and turned it into his own personal screening room. It makes me so sad.

I saw an interview with the head of the company and he dodged the question when asked about what the source was. He also openly confirmed that AI was used. He claimed that AI is used in all film restorations, which is completely false.

Just to be very clear— The new German “Day of the Dead” release has absolutely nothing to do with the Scream Factory restoration that I produced. The licensors have never heard of the company that released this nor did they have access to the interpositive that I found.
