Who would have predicted that playing a left footed player on the left would work? By all means let’s keep playing Rosales on the right for 70 minutes and seeing how that works. Player effort will eventually run up against bad tactics

No effort on the right side to get behind the defense by getting to the end line. Both Facu and Joe cut into the left every time. Joe is one of the best left sided players in the league, why are we playing him on the right??!!

I love the way Davy Arnaud’s team plays with belief and effort. Credit to him it has been fun. Having said that Rosales on the right deprives us of one of our best players in his natural position. It also means there is no real threat to get behind the D on the right as Joe cuts in every time

Quadversion is still pretty dumb but Davy has seemingly unlocked Sabovic and Uzuni, and brought Etvin Torres in, and just those factors alone transform this team.

Agree with this statement 100%. The players look rejuvenated (i would add Biro ti the list) but the QuadV is not good. The best half under Davy that we have played was a back 4 defensively with Gally and Rosales on the their natural positions. Why not stick with that. Massive credit to the players

Credit to Davy, the first half lineup was great!! Back 4 with Gally and Rosales in natural positions with a rejuvenated Sabo as the CM anchor gave us such a great foundation that the front 6 could be fluid and dynamic. The players loved it as well

I don’t necessarily agree that Nelson and Platchy should be wingbacks in a back 5 especially when we are up 3-0. True we were dangerous on the counter but we were also vulnerable especially on the left (and it looked more of a 3-4-3). A better team punishes us for those gaps and are back in it

The formation is a terrible idea and, predictably, is not working. Nelson and Platchy are good players but they are not inverted wingbacks who are going to be good at defending when we are hanging on for a draw. Rosales is maybe our best player this season and he needs to be somewhere on the left.

He is out of position. You see him try to clear with his left foot instead of his right foot and that causes the foul. Left footed wingers should not play RWB imho

I hate this 4 inverted wide player formation. It’s a if we intentionally created a tactic that leaves us full of gaps on defense and toothless on offense and utterly missing in midfield

Seattle quickly came to grips with the tactics. The set up also meant we left a couple of our best players on the bench. Why is it so hard to play our best players in their best positions? But I am happy with the way the players played (they pulled us over the line) and the win!!

Yeah well i feel that is maybe a bit optimistic. It seems like the club will want Curtin’s input on players before making decisions and the players will feel it is more important to impress Curtin than Arnaud. I am not sure that is a recipe for motivation under Arnaud. I hope I am wrong

Austin FC has announced that Jim Curtin will be the new Head Coach following the conclusion of the 2026 MLS season. The club confirmed that Curtin will be involved in the process of hiring the next Sporting Director. Davy Arnaud will remain as Interim Head Coach through the remainder of 2026.

This is a great point. We are honestly not being fair I think to the 5 guys who rotate in. Sabovic is - ahem - limited. Put him in the same line up with 4 other B players and their individual limitations are compounded. Nico gave them no chance. Why not spread that rotation over both away games?
