Really great performance from Austin. I've been relentless criticizng the galaxy brain side of Arnaud's tactics, but the fundamentals have become really solid: defensive shape and recovery is excellent. Attack is dangerous because players are given confidence and set up to acctually attack the goal.

My take on the red cards is that red cards as a part of the game suck. A close second is any direct foul in the box being an automatic penalty. These are two rules in the game where the punishment far exceeds the crime and they completely imbalance and ruin games.

Nelson is very talented player, but he needs to play on a team that will keep him as wide as possible. He's best driving at a defense from very wide positions. I don't know anything about Bolton, but Austin is NOT that team right now and won't be under Curtin either. bsky.app/profile/tomb...

Good game from two teams that are better than their records. Austin’s playoff chances increasingly slim now. Davy Arnaud continues to be an infuriating head coach who has gotten the team playing closer to their potential but is also completely fucking unhinged with sub and positional choices.

Arnaud just watched Joseph Rosales demolish the left side of Philly for a full 60’ and decided that, with Facu Torres on, he just HAD to move Rosales to the right side and eat up the exact same space. Mad man.
