Daunting! They're located 2 hours from the nearest town over old logging roads (17 miles of which are currently in horrendous condition). We were without cell reception for about 6 hours. The nearest bit of civilization with electricity is 35 miles away.

The railway was a short 13-mile line built by Great Northern Paper Company in 1927, they were only used for 6 years and shut down during The Great Depression. In 1996 a group of volunteers went to work and continue to maintain the trail.

Even with it being overcast most of the day, it was incredibly beautiful. My only regret was not having enough time to take in more sights. If you do go bring bug spray (the black flies were bothersome) and get your brakes tightened ahead if time.
