Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 3hI agree with virtually all you said. Man of the match, has to be Barcola, but regardless of the goals, there were other contenders like you mentioned, it was a consumate team performance 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 6hI wouldn’t want Wirtz to fail, hence I bought the jersey, fools who cannot contextualize a player would. Echoed in “For once, he had movement around him, runners anticipating his passes, teammates occupying defenders and combinations creating the spaces his intelligence is designed to exploit. 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 8hPretty much sums it up, but with Lasik on the attack bringing on both Joe & VVD cold and Frimpong though very good going fwd, not a great right back and we got leaky. But it was a great opportunity for the young lads and slightly Klopesque in we will just score more. Lots to be positive about again 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 9hHe has been loyal and came on cold. But, your right, we need a replacement, and Jacquet & Araujo are there, but we need back up 010
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 9hJust a bit, Klopesque in terms of we will score more. But Joe and VVD not ready or sharp enough. Game management 110

Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Confronted by the facts, he is an intellectual and moral embarrassment. He regurgitates the spam that the club has generated around this scenario, lackey! The gloating around a victory that needed referee interference, compounds the issue that with wholesale corruption they answer to money alone 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 13/10/2026It’s hard to watch week in, week out across many teams, that the refereeing system and VAR are not instruments of this corruption. The time given to Man City is unacceptable. They need to be held accountable in a timely fashionbefore they game and league we love, we completely lose faith in. 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Agree with the gloating, it’s embarrassing, but I also understand that when those players/fans are underfire that the siege mentality gives some temporary reprieve no matter the final outcome . Up until that red card, I thought we could win and thats progress considering our absentees 000

Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 11/10/2026There were huge positives, Munoz, Gravenberch, MacAllister, the general play up until the red card. Decision making up front needs to be better (missing key players). With subs and we understand why, it got worse and worse, but 3-0, there is alot to learn. 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 11/10/2026We did have best of it until then, stats support that and we played some lovely football, but no product. 1st goal, lucky deflection into Haaland’s path. But then defending sitting in and allowing them to approach was not appropriate tactics, we needed to push out and attack the player on the ball. 100
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 11/10/2026Well, three key players missing, the red was a little harsh and that was his best game of the season, but his decision making in the final 1/3rd could have been better. Down to ten men, a deflection gave the ball to Haaland, the rest is about doing better @ defending /pushing them out-dissapointing 010

Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 30/09/2026of course, cannot wait to see how they are greeted at Anfield. 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 27/09/2026We need to stop scapegoating Wirtz, its neither shows an understanding of football, or the performance of players around him and the nature of the team he arrived into. Football is dynamic and this team is still developing 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 27/09/2026It took to long to bring speed into the game other than Bellingham/Gordon. Options aside, clearly not a meritocracy 010
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 27/09/2026response time to clear defensive frailties from the middle to OReilly was clear from min 1. Anderson tried his best as did Quansah, Bellingham, Gordon, but no changes, same up front (Kane, Saka, Skelly, poor touch bad delivery and yet he makes changes at 82 mins. Penalty fiasco aside, speed was req 010
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Looks at each moment of play and shows the ideal pass movements/options etc V what you have actually done. Something a liitle bit more dynamic that is more predictive based on where you are but also tracks those pos/neg changes over time 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Thanks David. What I’ve seen to date is promising and we can only wonder what we might of done starting Araujo in RB. The challenge with most of these stats is that they dont really predict the game as a whole. To your first point context is everthing. Id like to see a tool that history matches. 010
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Tuchel keeps on Kane and Saka (until 82 mins) who were shocking. Your trying to get an equalizer and you insist on keeping guys on 100
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Absolute garbage defending and he has the audacity to criticize TAA, OReilly, Guehi and Konsa, shocking and look at the substitutes. Gordan arguably, their best player is taken off and Kane/Saka have been poor all game and yet are still on the pitch. 020
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Shocking defending by England and Tuchel has the audacity to criticize TAA. How many times have Spain penetrated that defense with ease. 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026England V Spain, only 1-0 to Spain, could be 4-0 if Ferran Torres could get his act together when through on goal. Can England rescue ? 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Englands speed of movement breaking forward just allows the Spanish to reset everytime, failing to take advantage of every opportunity 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 26/09/202612 mins in and the English awareness, press and delivery in the final 1/3rd is sub par 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Lets not forget, Gakpo the archictect, difficult flick back assist by Wirtz and simple put away by Isak. How many nearly shots did we have and by who? Who else in the first half lost numerous balls, overall neither stats good 000
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Whatever the case, have to make this work, what I like about the various permutations we have tried is is that we are trying to find ways and nobody’s position is safe (assuming available options) if your not delivering. I’m a Wirtz fan and you just have to contextualize within what the team needs 000

Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Lots to be positive about. Kerkez, defensively not bad, his crosses, service to Barcola, crosses in general, he shoots when he had two options, shocking, headless chicken. If we improve the mid & high Press, and keep him in defence, maybe. Comments on Wirtz, true for this game, but was not alone. 200
Jeff Forsyth @jeffforsythphd.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Yeh, good game management, but delivery up the left wing to Barcola by Kerkez in general is poor, physicality aside he doesnt cut it , marginal improvements in the high Press, but still a little too disjointed up front. Stand out’s Jacquet, Mac Allister, Gakpo. Where do we go from here esp in Mid? 010
