I honestly thought it was going to take five runs to win that game. Fortunately, I was wrong.

I think Vogt has consistently overused his bullpen in the playoffs, and last night was more of the same in a big game. I get using a fresh pitcher the other team hasn’t seen, but at some point you are just shuffling pitchers until you find the guy who doesn’t have it that day.

This team wants good quarterback play but thry don’t seem to do anything to encourage it. They traded Joe Flacco after three games last year, even though the offense’s problems clearly had nothing to do with him, so they could start Dillon Gabriel. Competence is punished by this team over and over.

He doesn’t seem to be in anyone’s good graces. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t go somewhere else and have a good season or two eventually.

NEW ADVICE-FROM-LIEBER LIST! I've posted these tips as a thread before, but I figured it's about time I made it available as a single, shareable image.
MISTAKES I'VE MADE THAT YOU CAN AVOID
Don't be like me.
1. Don't trash your own work when complemented. In that context your self-deprecation is insulting someone else's taste! Just say thanks and change the subject. Maybe credit an influence?
2. As far as your readers are concerned, comics are drawn with a printing press or a monitor. Don't fetishize the original art or the tools you make it. Anything that gets the story told the way it needs to be told is the right tool for the job.
3. Don't use one job to audition for another. It's unfair to your collaborators and a betrayal of the reader to get flashy or sexy or explosive if the moment in the story doesn't call for it.
4. The important storytelling choices on a page can be worked out in thumbnails. Gesture, camera angle, framing, broad arrangement of tones-get this stuff right before you worry about anatomy, lighting, drapery, or facial expressions.
5. Some artists can put down a final inkline with no underdrawing, but that's because they're skilled and experienced enough to do all that underdrawing in their head. You probably aren't. Get your underdrawing right and save the masterstrokes for the masters.
6. What you're feeling while you work doesn't matter. What the audience feels when they read it does. You can be happy and still do a great drawing of someone in agony. You should understand what you're depicting. It's not necessary to experience it in real time at the board.
7. Get a fresh eye on your work. You never know when some accidental juxtaposition is going to completely change your intended meaning.
8. Don't let getting things 100% right keep you from getting things done. It's easy to get bogged down in research or prep sketches. Make a schedule at the start of a project so you know how much time you have. Do the best you can with the time allotted and move on. But...

I’d just as soon he keeps hitting .400 as opposed to hitting home runs, but I’ll take it for now.

Probably the most fun trading deadline for baseball in general, but I feel like the Guardians really aced this. I wish they’d have made some of these moves sooner. Reminds me a little of the 2000 season when they traded for a bunch of guys at the deadline.

We have the primal brains of hunter-gatherers, the social institutions of the Middle Ages, and the god-like technology of the future. As a species, we simply weren’t ready for the psychological toll of 24/7 connectivity.

This was the only way I could find Lee-Kirby Fantastic Four comics as a kid - but the reprints. I have quite a few of these. They were hard to find, but worth more than gold to me when I found them. Somehow, I amassed a pretty good run of even-numbered issues.

This may have been the first Plastic Man comic I ever had! I think it was written by Martin Pasko and drawn by Joe Staton, and I absolutely loved their version of Plas.

It’s mind blowing now! When I was in college I found a collection of Flash Gordon strips - maybe from Kitchen Sink Press? - and I became obsessed with his figures work and flowing brush lines.

Cover by Dick Sprang and Charles Paris.
Batman #56 (1949). The cover reads, “In this issue: The dynamic duo in a swashbuckling South American Adventure- ‘Ride, Bat-Hombre, Ride!’” Batman and Robin are both riding horses and Batman is wearing a thick red and yellow sash over his costume. Several beautiful women are looking on.

I think this era of FF is underrated. It was before I became a regular reader but I always loved these issues when I found them in comic book stores.

You know, I don’t find that hard to believe. They interviewed him first and he was always in the conversation. The more I read about him and see what he’s doing, the more I like this hire. We won’t know for a while, but he seems like someone who should have had this opportunity sooner.

I agree! If you can’t get the QB you want, fill as many other needs as possible!

Jefferson Wolfe @jeffersonwolfe.bsky.social · 04/01/2026
The problem is if/when they fire him, you know it will some team’s “hit” OC or QB coach who has never been a head coach before, and we will see a slew of rookie coach mistakes, and probably all new assistant coaches too. Unless they just promote Jim Schwartz, whose HC record is 29-51.

@ericafails.bsky.social The first two issues of Harley and Ivy Life & Crimes were amazing! Your art - storytelling, drawing and coloring - is fun to look at and perfect for the story. Your dialogue and expressive anatomy made the characters come to life! I can hardly wait for the third issue!

I saw something on social media somewhere (I don’t remember where) that at the end of the season, Berry would get promoted to president and the assistant GM Glenn Cook would take over. There is some sense to this, but it was still speculative. I don’t know if Jimmy Haslem even knows yet.

He played really well in the fist half. I’m cautiously becoming a fan. I think if he had a good team around him, it would make a big difference in his play.

Their WRs are so awful. It just cants overstated. They can’t get open. They can’t catch. In 1999, at least they had Kevin Johnson.

It’s having no offensive line AND crappy receivers in Cleveland. At least he has good receivers in Cincy.
