"Pizza Cats" has become ubiquitous for either version. Less of a mouthful, too.

Scene-by-scene manual correction via Premiere or Resolve. Blame the telecine process for whatever issues these inherently have.

So we're going through some CC fixes for Samurai Pizza Cats and we need some help on some lines. This thread will have a few clips. Can anyone identify what the narrator is saying here after "will cut through anything" and before "Barbara bush's hairspray?"

I'm so fried with these bullshit takes, expecting unending concessions, along with the expectation of the word "patriot" to do a fuckton of righteous justification to anyone's lame ass, halfbaked soapbox puke.

What exactly defines being a "patriot" about this situation, Michele? I'm all ears.

Was designed specifically for use in a black case, and I'd recommend a centered, 1:1 print on a semi-gloss 11x17 paper stock for the best results.

Jefferson Taylor @jeffersontaylor.com · 25/07/2026

The above posted link contains (what *should* be) a Blu-ray compliant encode of the movie, along w/ a case insert that if printed 1:1 and precisely trimmed, should allow you to create a functional physical copy.

Honestly my favorite elements of the whole production; the dubbing work and the soundtrack. Thankfully, the entirety of the soundtrack (more or less) exists commercially through a few compilations of Robotech music. My goal was to give the movie's overall audio a similar level of reference quality.

041

Jefferson Taylor @jeffersontaylor.com · 25/07/2026

As it stands, it's a confusing mess (even when viewed through adult eyes). That said, it plays host to many memorable vocal performances from industry staples, including Kerrigan Mahan, Greg Snegoff, Richard Epcar, Michael McConnohie, Edie Mirman, Wendee Lee, and Robert Barron (among others).

Jefferson Taylor @jeffersontaylor.com · 25/07/2026

Perhaps presented differently (i.e. without the Masters segments forcibly crammed in), history would look upon it more favorably. As someone who was seated for Transformers: The Movie shortly after this premiered, there was an unquestionable appetite for this type of animation on the big screen.

Jefferson Taylor @jeffersontaylor.com · 25/07/2026

40 years ago today. Personally, Robotech: The Movie is more than the sum of its parts. As a film, it's...not great. But as a landmark of the burgeoning anime market outside of Japan at the time, it's a significant indicator of the growing pains the business endured, to bring us where we are in 2026.

The goal of getting this transferred was primarily the audio. This capture as a whole is for posterity/archival/reference purposes, as it's the "cleanest" commercial form released before it was swept under the rug.
