I'm not the biggest EQ dork, but there's a feature of @getsoundly.bsky.social plugin that I really like. The "mix" knob isn't a wet/dry knob, rather it fades the band's PARAMETERS. Makes complex EQ fades possible with a single automation lane. Pretty neat, free: getsoundly.com/tools/

Quite enjoying this built in non-destructive spectral repair in the newer versions of #reaperdaw. One less thing I have to use RX for. Works for time selections and razor edits too. > Sample edits: Spectral repair sample values in time selection for all channels at mouse

Can't believe I never noticed the action called "File: Spawn new instance of REAPER". It just opens another window so that you can work on multiple projects (and copy-paste between them) in split-screen. Will make integrating pickups a lot faster. #reaperdaw

I think Linear Phase EQ is kind of overhyped. But the one place i often use it is for checking my adjustments. Flip into linear mode for a moment to see if the high pass is negatively affecting the voice. Easy to hear it with the delta solo option in Reaper. You'll hear only what's changed.

I've used quite a lot of cassette tape emulation plugins for #sounddesign and I'm coming to the conclusion that Spectral Audio's (now) free OSC-45 sounds the nicest of them all. Beautiful saturation and wow/flutter emulation. archive.org/details/ocs-...

EQ matching is hard for me and I need all the help I can get. Currently trial-ing FabFilter Pro-Q4: - EQ match gave better result than any other I tried - Perpetual license - No iLok - Uncluttered interface I truly don't want to spend this much money on an EQ, but seems worth it?

Something that helps me when I'm mixing complex ambiences is Reaper's mode where a track can become a 2-D canvas with resizable blocks. This allows for fades that would otherwise be impossible. Right click a track in the track control panel and select "Free Item Positioning Mode" #ReaperDAW

Audio editors: How are lowering dialog breaths in your audio? I've tried some of the automated solutions and (even with careful tweaking) have never found them reliable enough to actually use. I always revert to manually doing it.

For interviews recorded in stereo (and other field tape) I find this #reaperDAW script helpful: nofish_Normalize take pan (Loudness based).lua It pans the item so that left and right are equally loud. It is a quick way to put off-center voices in the middle.
