It’s a classic tale by now but my dad got a job somewhere in his early 30s after getting an mba and then stayed until he retired. I don’t know a single person living that life, no matter what field they’re in.

I get some of the thought process behind the digital look for this (gangsters, they’re just like us!) but I think ultimately it just makes the film look like a history channel re-enactment. Collateral fares better.

It’s unfortunate because he absolutely *can* be a compelling straight man lead (Mississippi Grind on the drama side, Safe House for action). He just has chosen to turn every role into some variation of Deadpool. It works for those movies. It doesn’t for almost everything else.
