Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I’ve driven a few old cars but the only time I’ve legitimately felt unsafe was riding in my dad’s MG TF 1500 (looked just like this) on the highway with modern traffic around. No power, no brakes, no safety equipment, felt totally exposed. 041

Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Appliance quality is very bad these days to say the least. 020
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Posting this part of the Europa. It opens normal, but looks ,and kind of is, super janky. Bonus points because this upper storage area can be used to hold stuff, but not too much, because it’s really a ventilation plenum. Which is also pretty weird. 1122
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 16/09/2026I seriously thought about repairing a frayed cord on my drill with Lucas-style bullet connectors today. Time to rethink some choices. 010
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Cloth seats were nice also because the drool from our dog standing in the back didn’t roll down them quite as freely. 011
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 16/09/2026We had a Buick Century wagon kind of like this. Unlike then Oldsmobile it replaced, it had roll-down rear windows instead of just vent panes (and power at that!), AC, and cloth seats instead of vinyl. 191
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I thought raising minimum wage by 10 cents was going to make hamburgers cost $70. 110
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 15/09/2026It’s wild isn’t it? I was flying home the other night and someone in front of me was watching Fox News on the setback screen. 020
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Sometimes I wonder how far things need to go before it actually sways these people. 120
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Yeah it turned out pretty nice… moreso than I expected. Should be making about 135 HP. 021
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Engine is done, now it’s the transmission. Wont bore you with the details but more typical lotus experience stuff. 161
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Yeah it was also a real surprise, haha. Like normally I kind of just assume there’s going to be way more than a finger width between the steering wheel and the glass. There’s also kind of a weird feeling from the driver’s seat because the wheel is not facing you straight, angles out very slightly 020
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 13/09/2026I’m barely 5’8” so not much issue there for me. The problem I did have was clearance from the top of the wheel to the windscreen so I ended up spacing the bracket down 1/2” to make more room for my hands when turning, haha 230

Reposted by JeffNial @vintageracer.bsky.social · 29/08/2026I race with a similar double-bubble Abarth coupe on a regular basis (with my A35). We have great fun! youtu.be/p4EEFhs16yw?... 142
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I had one just like that a couple months ago as a rental. Really nice car but I did wonder what they were going for with that trim material on the interior, like I had no idea what it was or was supposed to be. 120
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 25/08/2026My uncle had (what I think was, I was young) a fake-wood-sided Grand Marquis wagon that had a blown rear wheel bearing start a fire while he was driving it somewhere in either Northern Michigan or the Upper Peninsula. Wish I had the roadside picture with the charred wheel well, haha. 020
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 21/08/2026I’m happy we got what is effectively a more sedate looking version over here in the Integra. 140
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 21/08/2026I’ve seen a lot of cars around the world that we don’t get, but this is really the only one I get that “I want it” feeling for. Anyway yeah laws, wtf. 030
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Yeah it was crazy. Much money was allegedly spent on this. They actually de-tuned the engine so it could run on the types of fuel you have to use on the route apparently. Anyway it was just stupidly cool. 120
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Roman numerals on the shifter, lol. There are certainly some gross things going on this year. 010
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Kinda want to visit Seattle again to see this. Seattle people do you know anything about this venue? Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 31/07/2026I got to sit in the SR71 cockpit at the museum in Seattle the other week. Worth it even if just for a second. 010
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 31/07/2026This was a great color and they should have kept it and put it in everything. 110
Jeff @jeffbatt.bsky.social · 21/07/2026Kind of ironic Toyota is up there and Ram/Stellantis isn’t. 110
