I did talk to our concierge at one point and he was watching the whole thing on the security cameras, pretty jelly tbh, but I did get a glimpse at it, very cool.

They shot an episode of Law and Order Toronto in the lounge and park of my building yesterday. I was very excited to find out it was used as the actual crime scene, but sadly most of it was inside, and I wasn't able to see in for most of the day. They did shoot […] [Original post on higgy.social]

That's cute. Went to IKEA and they had these fake sticker cards in some of their staged areas. I really apreciate how much they replicated a Presto (transit) and TPL (Library) card without actually cloning them.

It does upset me a little bit that in order to get home assistant setup to replace my smartthings hub I need 4 other services running in pods to get it to work. But even if I had HA on a Pi I'd still need these installed, so I guess it's fine. And did I even […] [Original post on higgy.social]

TIL Tailscale is based in Toronto, that's awesome, love finding out something I use so heavily is Canadian. Was also looking at their job postings, they have some that are right up my alley, but the pay is 3x what I currently make, which makes me sceptical if I'm even qualified.

I love seeing diplomatic license plates in the wild. Sadly this is just a Consular, I have yet to see the elusive Diplomat plate (CDx). I've found mixed information on whether the last letter denotes the country it is assigned to, but would love to know what D is if that is the case.

The daily incremental backups to my tapes has been working just fine without any issues for the last few days, so maybe the issue is a bad tape and not with the drive itself. The issue is that I feel like multiple different tapes caused the drive to freak out. More testing is necessary.

One of my favorite statistics from the drive, Lifetime Meters of tape processed, so that is 6,318,826 M of tape. And this value was close to 0 when I got the drive, so in just 3 months it has gone through the incomprehensible amount of tape. For some context Canada is only 5,566,000 M across.

One of these was printed with the 0.4 nozzle and took 3 hours, the other two with the 0.2 nozzle and took 12 hours... I can barely tell a difference sadly... I was hoping I'd see more of an improvement, even something really. And the two 0.2 prints ended up having print issues too.

When I first saw the fluff I was about 10 hours into a 12 hour print, decided to let it continue. The bottom surface turned out less than ideal for sure. Since the print only uses 13g of filament I decided to try again, even if it does take 12 hours to print. Sadly it resulted in the same issue.
