Something is definitely coming... We've been cooking...

After a long strenuous weekend, I'm not in a good head space today. Mental health has been low and anxiety up for the last few weeks. Idk why. :( It's been a few years since I've hit such a low point. Nothing to fear, but I don't like it one bit. If you can spare any, send some mental strength.

I honestly can't remember as a child, but as a young teenager, it was The Exorcist. That first "subliminal" flash of the demon face and I was... Nope nope nope... Turned the thing off and watched the rest the morning after. 😅🫣

Yes! This is the best way to run games and it's also part of our design philosophy. We don't want to give GM and players the pieces of a puzzle of a a story we decide for them. We are giving them paintbrushes and buckets filled with hundreds of colors to paint their own story.

"How did you get into TTRPGs?" 17yo. Started CEGEP (if you're not from QC you probably don't know what that is 😅). I was alone with no friends and got lost in this new huge school. I stumbled upon the RP club and found my people. The first TTRPG I played was White Wolf's Werewolves: The Apocalypse.

Fall weather is upon us here in Montreal. It's been wet and cool outside lately and 🍂 are turning to shades of yellow and orange. It's lovely. Been feeling low on energy. Probably because of the lack of sunlight, but I think I'm ok? 😅 How have you been? Let's make this a wellness check Friday. ❤️‍🩹

And if I was doing that... what would you like to see me talk about or do on stream? 🤔

Here it is! Officially presenting our logo. 🎉🍾🥳 We hope you like it. 😊

Been debating going back into streaming to stream our work on different projects and chat with people. Just a way to share with people in the #ttrpg community. Would anyone be interested in that kind of chill stream?

Been yawning for the past 2 hours and having trouble focusing and almost falling asleep... Riiiiiight.... Forgot my ADHD meds. It's on these days that I realize how effective they are and I can't function without them. Idk what I did for the first 47 years of my life.

It's been such a long weekend. I'm so tired and drained and it's already Monday tomorrow. 😩 Hopefully the week will be filled with important achievements and less mental exhaustion.

I'd be really curious to learn how you organize and prioritize your different projects and all their parts and development steps. Tell me everything!

Yesterday was an expensive day. 😭 Got Hope Dies Last by @mikerunderwood.bsky.social and @infinite-citadel.com. Tales and Twists by @jackofalltracks.bsky.social. Then the amazing Fateweavers Guide to the Realms Beyond by @ettinttrpg.bsky.social. What a day!

Just spent a whole day (9.5h) doing some game design for our Cowboy Bebop inspired campaign setting for Daggerheart. Such an amazing feeling. I wish I could do this everyday and get paid for it.

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

I was wondering... When you want to playtest new content, do you have a dedicated group? Do you ask around for willing victims 😅? Do you prefer other creators or regular players or GMs or all three? Gimme the goods! 😊

000

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Anyone out there using Notion? Do you like it or dis you fond a better solution? Trying to organize all my projects in it. Never used it before and it's not super user friendly so far, but I'm getting there. I feel that once it's all set up it might help but it's a lot of work to get there.

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Almost ready to present the official logo for "Of Purrs & Plots". I can't wait to share it. :) I'm also working on the different collections we'll have. 😊 Everything is moving pretty well if not fast enough for my brain. 😅

000

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

One of those mornings. Brain can’t focus on anything. Too many things want to be priority number 1. Then I fall straight into decision paralysis, and anxiety kicks in full gear. Stupid “twice-exceptional” brain. Twice exceptional, my ass... 😅

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Challenge: One liner pitch to sell your current project without naming it or saying what it is exactly. Me first: "Bring your players into a world at the end of an era where secrets of the past are resurfacing and characters uncover how that forgotten history will shape who they are." Your turn!

What are you working on these days? New content? New campaign? Mental health? Family time? 😊

I really cannot think of a greater honor than to have the Muppets say this about you upon your passing

Instagram post from the official Muppets account: Few humans have earned the title of honorary Muppet more than the legendary Tim Curry. As a performer he was unparalleled - witty, charming, unnerving, and deeply funny. We will always consider it one of our greatest treasures to have been part of Long John Silver’s crew. Thank you for everything, Tim.

Trying to incorporate mechanics in a grounded frame we're designing to make the game more dangerous beyond the standard "spend more fear" or "add Massive dmg". We already received a few ideas from the @heartofdaggers.bsky.social community but we'd like more. 😊 Any ideas?

Thinking about how to flavor the classes and domain cards to fit a SciFi world without magic without having to create new domains and cards. Give me ideas friends. I'm open to anything.

Question for players and GMs: What is your view on designing game experiences that will appeal to limited or specific groups... 🤔 Because of genre, sensitive topic or others...

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Having spent most of my life leveling up my storytelling skills by learning how to craft compelling intrigues and character arcs, it's now exciting to discorver how to mechanize this knowledge into fun original TTRPG settings to immerse players into these worlds and crazy rollercoasters of emotions.

A #writingcommmunity game: put the title of your WIP down and we’ll guess the genre! Let people guess. Don't say the answer. If they want to know they have to visit your profile. ;) Go!

Any parents out there stuck with all their kids songs in their Spotify yearly "wrapped"?

000

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

As predicted, after 1h, I can feel my brain shutting down. BUT! I was able to go over 19 notes and todos that I had left myself in my WIP, so that's good! And by working these few points, I still put down 553 words! Better than nothing! Time to head to bed now. 🥱

010

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 04/12/2024

Kids just went to bed. 45 minutes later than usual which cuts on my writing time 'cause my brain will slowly start going into sleep more. I might not write, but I'll check the many notes and todos I've left myself to check some off. Better than nothing!

010

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 03/12/2024

One hour and 826 words later, I think I'm done with this chapter. I'm happy because I pushed through and told myself it didn't need to all be good and I just had to write down what was happening the best I could. Now it's time for bed.

000

Jeff @ Of Purrs & Plots @jeff-purrsandplots.bsky.social · 02/12/2024

Creative question of the day: Do you ever get lost in all the ideas for your WIP? In my current one, too many things have changed (genre, major plot points, swapping characters). While new ideas excite me, I feel stuck and unsure if it’s still worth pursuing after all this time... it's been so long.

Finishing Marcus Kliewer's We Used to Live Here today. I'm still not sold but not less intrigued about how it's going to end. I think my problem over all is the pacing and clearly many loose ends and promises not paid of, but we'll see... There's still 40-50 pages to go. We never know.
