Friend in the US posted some local gas prices, $6.69/gal regular. At today's rates, that's 6.42PLN/liter while Poland's average price for regular is 6.18PLN. I don't think gas in Poland has ever been cheaper than in the US. Like... ever ever.

Cities should be putting more work into courting car shares: exclusive parking, larger zones, etc There is a very real issue that if you need a car once a week, you will buy a car and then use that car for everything: after all, you already own a car. You covered all fixed costs.

The reality is that progressive taxation is an attempt to mirror the fact that wealth accumulation is also progressive. It is much harder to go from 25k to 50k than it is to go from 10 million to 11 million, even though it's objectively the difference between 25k and 1 million.
