Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 15/10/2026If this gif is from this movie, then yeah, don’t think I’d be able to watch this 😂 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 12/10/2026The actual director, yes — she made a Ju-on movie too 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 12/10/2026I found out about this movie last year when I watched the great J-Horror Virus documentary, the director was interviewed — really need to get around to watching it. 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 12/10/2026Took a short break from horror to catch the latest Spider-Man movie. It was generally entertaining, I liked the action, but didn’t feel like it made any sense to center it around “that” character, and the “woe is me” stuff in the first half was annoying. boxd.it/gKsMf7 #filmsky 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 11/10/2026I love this keyboard, it’s what I use at work (at the studio) — and I have the Commodore 64 one too. 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 10/10/2026It’s crazy that I’d never watched Duel until now, and it’s even crazier just how incredibly good it is — a TV movie, and Spielberg’s first film. It’s terrifying too, I was stressed the entire time watching. boxd.it/gIp4Ot #filmsky 110 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I’m really digging Eli Roth’s History of Horror series on Shudder. 010 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I don’t really want to play those games, but as an object, I love this. 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I'm sure I watched Jennifer's Body back when it originally came out, but didn't remember much. It's fun, does the high school thing better than most movies like this (here's looking at you, Fear Street: Prom Night). Love the stuff during the closing credits. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil... #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 09/10/2026It's always good to rewatch Halloween, and this time was especially fun after having just watched Someone's Watching Me! (and hey, cop is played by the same actor in both films), which Carpenter did just before. The Carpenter soundtrack is still the best. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil... #filmsky 100 1

Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I really liked Kurosawa's Serpent's Path recently, but I can't say I enjoyed watching Cloud. There's a clinical sense of dread and inhumanity -- that is intended -- that left me feeling uncomfortable from start to finish. It's a good film, but not enjoyable. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil... #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 06/10/2026This is a TV movie made by John Carpenter just before Halloween — his first film I think. It feels pretty conventional, and it’s weird seeing something by Carpenter where he’s not doing the music. Interesting to watch as an artifact, and Hutton is a hoot early on. boxd.it/gET43L #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I think I liked the first three Fear Street movies fine, but Prom Queen just felt lifeless. Uninteresting, unfunny, just plain dull (the climax gets a bit fun, but not enough to redeem it). Only thing I liked was the 80s music that plays during the prom. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil... #filmsky 110 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 06/10/2026American Psycho is still such a damn good movie, with such an iconic performance by Bale. Rewatching it now it feels just as mesmerizing as it ever did. And oh that soundtrack -- and not just the Huey Lewis bit. Love this demented movie so damn much. letterboxd.com/jeansnow/fil... #filmsky 110 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Penny Lane is Dead was good! I liked the Australian 80s setting, and it doesn’t following the structure these kinds of movies usually do. Smart little chiller. boxd.it/gDTdE3 #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Revisited 1408 because it’s currently popular on Shudder, and I think it was better than I remembered it being. A decent descent into madness kinda thing. boxd.it/gDGDY3 #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 03/10/2026It’s weird that I’ve never watched The Keep until now, but better late than never. That said, the performances, dialogue, and effects are all pretty bad. Can’t say it’s a particularly good movie, but I’m glad I watched it. I like the idea of it more than the execution. boxd.it/gBFnNj #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 03/10/2026It’s been quite a while since I’ve watched Eyes Wide Shut, and I don’t think I’ve enjoyed it as much as I did this time around. I was mesmerized. And those notes. boxd.it/gBD6kl #filmsky 110 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Bloody Tennis is basically Susperia, but with tennis instead of dance, and a lot more silly, and it’s good fun. I dug it. boxd.it/gAI7G9 #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I just came across Marama on Shudder, and as I usually do on Shudder with stuff I don’t know, if it’s it’s rated 4 or 5 then I’ll watch it. Really terrific film, with a very cruel mystery. boxd.it/gABAFl #filmsky 110 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It’s pretty terrible 😂 It basically sounds like she learned her lines phonetically, and so it’s sometimes hard to clearly understand what she’s saying. But it didn’t make me enjoy the film any less. 010 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Came across this recent Kurosawa film from the new collection of his films that was just added to the Criterion Channel, and loved it. It’s a remake of own of his earlier films, and I can’t remember if I’ve seen that original, but I do want to watch it too. boxd.it/gAu7yV #filmsky 201 2
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026It came out a few weeks ago, but I was waiting for October to watch it, to kick off my horror marathon. I’m glad I watched it, and there’s a lot I loved (especially the meta aspect), but at the same time some of it felt cringe to me. boxd.it/gAisJ7 #filmsky 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 02/10/2026October! That means I’ve resubbed to Shudder, tons of horror adjacent stuff was added to the Criterion Channel, and so as with every year, expect a very thrillin’ and chillin’ movie thread this month. #filmsky 120 2
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I never liked Dinosaur Jr., but I’m a huge fan of everything Lou Barlow did after being kicked out of the band (Sebadoh, Sentridoh, etc.) so this was still pretty interesting for me, to see how it all went down. Mascis’ voice is so annoying though boxd.it/gyOVpB #filmsky 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Came across this because I saw it was leaving Criterion Channel today, but ended up not enjoying it much because it assumes you know everything about their relationship and family history, which I didn’t. Not bad, just not for me. boxd.it/gyOLGn #filmsky 101 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Also, this run I went big on cyberware, giving myself mantis blades on my arms, and by the end I was just warping everywhere, destroying crowds of enemies in a flash. So satisfying. 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I love that Phantom Liberty is not only quite the addition — my original playthrough was 20+ hours, this time it was around 40 — and that it adds another new, and completely different, possible ending. Plays perfect on Switch 2. 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Last night I finished my second playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077 (first time was on Xbox, this time on Switch 2) and I now have to consider this to be one of my all-time favorite games. Was also my first time playing the Phantom Liberty expansion, and it was terrific. 200 2
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Last year they released a second season in a more traditional TV format, and I watched that too, and loved it to death — I’d say it’s now one of my all-time favorite series. And the way they transitioned from shorts to longer — and more emotional — episodes is done brilliantly. Highly recommended. 000 0
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 26/09/2026A friend recently turned me on to Bref, a French series of comedy shorts (each episode is around 2 minutes) that came out 15 years ago, and I ended up binging all 82 episodes in a few days — here’s a playlist on YouTube. youtube.com/playlist?lis...youtube.combref. l'intégrale des épisodes. - YouTubeTous les épisodes sont là ! Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 26/09/2026This is the 5th or 6th film by Yann Gozlan I’ve watched in recent weeks, and it’s unfortunately the first one that didn’t really work for me. Visions has interesting ideas, but the way it was delivered wasn’t, and the pace was glacial. boxd.it/guTnFT #filmsky 110 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 26/09/2026The update to the Criterion Channel app on Apple TV is really nice — makes it easier to find movies based on countries, genres, etc. Still wish you could turn off subtitles though (if you know the non-English language, it becomes distracting). 100 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 24/09/2026Have finally come to the realization that I really dislike Ted Lasso. This series has become so incredibly cringe at this point, and I even now dislike characters I used to like. 010 1
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Would normally include the anime series Monster (adaptation of Urasawa's manga), but for some reason it wasn't available as an option -- but this is very representative of the "anime that made me" or that I consider to have marked me the most. 030 3
Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 23/09/2026My main takeaway here is that I would like to see this director take on a different topic — I liked the art direction that incorporates his manual/illustration-based material. I didn’t really like what it had to say about A.I., didn’t feel like anything was really answered. boxd.it/grQe7l #filmsky 110 1

Jean Snow @jeansnow.bsky.social · 21/09/2026The Whisper Man isn’t particularly bad, but it just fell flat for me — maybe in part because of all the excellent French thrillers I’ve been watching recently. boxd.it/gqnhnf #filmsky 100 1
