The actual announcements are fine but he just had to come in and drop his little bit and make it about his views. Honestly kind of messes up the announcements imo. He could've just left it out.

Well I see Evan is now chatizising people (me included) for calling out an Ai entry in the physics jam. So I guess we know who holds the most sway in the Ai debate there.

Them including ai in the jam feels like an endorsement of it's use too imo.

I know of at least one person at free lives that is very anti ai and outspoken about it, but clearly not enough others to dissuade its use. And yeah with the local industry being so small you can't easily speak out or push back at some sections of it without possible repercussions.

Yeah it's laughable how they're trying to go about it when the "drama" is a small amount of people. If an AI game wins any of the prizes I feel that'll create waaay more imo.

The background artist equivalent is spending a whole day carefully painting one background because the fidelity needs to hold up to 4K resolution only for it to be blurred for the shot by the compositing team

Is gmail busted? I've been signed out can't remember my password it's been literal years. When I choose forgot password it does nothing. Account recovery asks me to sign in with my password? How must I fix this without spending hours trying to guess my old password?

Gets some mild criticism, omg its cyberbullying🙄. Thing is, myself and several others from top studios in SA took time and effort to fill in their survey but was clearly ignored. Extra sad, saw the teaser trailer for their new students films and was impressed. But now anything from there = ai slop

Controls made sense as a surfer (me and my surfing friends loved this game). On your surfboard you lean forward / backwards (upper body) to turn your board so pushing "up" to turn right up the wave face, then left to go down made sense to us. THPS players felt confused by that, understandably.

I mean, how many regression stories can you read at once? In my case apparently several.... dozen, lols. My favourite one isnt a regression story but is basically x-men in korea. Called Eleceed or as the wife calls it "the cat manga". Got her sucked into reading some too😂

Destiny was my one and only time I got to work on a AAA game. While it was just some small icons for the menus, I genuinely enjoyed doing the work. It also got me to start playing the game and ended up sinking in thousands of hours into it. Sad day today.

But we have a tax treaty with the US, that should exempt you from having to "pay" it. Several countries do but guess with these kinds of platforms they cant be arsed to figure that out. I know local game devs use itch, maybe ask around if there's a way to fix these issues / best practices?
