iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I ordered me a pizza for dinner. When that gets here and I've chowed it down, provided it doesn't send me into a nice nap, I'll fire up a stream and we'll go back to an old favorite. Castlevania 1. The CV game that doesn't kick puppies.

I think I just got diarrhea by thinking in my head "Temu Hot Dogs."

It really sucks getting so angry with the RNG and other kaizo-like stuff in this game. I'm hoping I'm not driving off too many viewers with my rage, but I honestly feel it's best to let rage out when you are frustrated than to bottle it up and let it fester.

This, right here, is why I think CV3 as a speedrun is the most awful thing one can come up with. It's 90% RNG with a tiny bit of execution. Get birds who decide that they won't despawn off-screen or stay just out of range of your attacks? RNG determines that. www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6mB...

CV3 Sucks As A Speedrun

Also, this isn't Konami muting the VODs. Since Twitch can't monitor every single stream and every single VOD, they use an automated system that compares audio samples against a database. Not all games played on Twitch are retro so this really is more a safety for modern games. *cough, GTA6, cough*

It's extremely easy to appeal this. Just appeal, pick ANY reason since the reason doesn't matter, then submit the appeal. Within MINUTES the appeal is resolved and the stream is unmuted. This is not a copyright strike so no worries with that. Just an extra step after stream.

Screenshot showing recent past streams with no muted audio and no copyright strikes.

Been playing the Belmont's Curse demo for the past couple of hours. Not going to lie, I'm hooked. This is a lot of fun and I'm pretty excited now for the new game.

Same here. I used to do it quite a bit, but then it just became too much of a hassle and in the time it took to change status to live, I'd decide not to stream. Haha.

Weather did not allow me to do any runs tonight sadly. Every few moments my lights flicker and I'd rather not lose power in the middle of a run. Still, Happy 40th Birthday to the Castlevania Series!

I'm hoping to be able to get a stream going later this evening to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Castlevania. The weather has been finicky with heavy winds and rain making lights flicker. So if things improve even slightly, we'll get going. Crossing my fingers!

This is a pretty cool "Happy Birthday" to Castlevania by Konami. www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9hm...

Wanna watch the Z1Rando Game 3 going on right now, then after that I think we'll try to get a PB in Castlevania 1 again. I feel like streaming again.

Welcome back to the Northeast. (Sorry, I consider all of NY State the "Northeast"). Hope the furry one enjoys cold weather and snow!

Went and gave the air cleaners in my home a full replacement. It's pretty remarkable how much crap accumulates over time. If you have an air cleaner going in your place, great! If you forget to clean/replace the filters regularly, well, not so great. Heh.

Heads up to any Castlevania Series Speedrunners on Twitch. "コナミ矩形波倶楽部" is going around causing every single current and historical stream of Castlevania to be muted. For now, the only recourse is to appeal and indicate that you are not using the music from their album. This takes a long time though.

This is always awesome. Gave him a big follow last year due to that. Now I can catch them all from start to finish!

Met this guy in person last weekend at NES_Fest and he's as awesome a person as his videos are. Definitely worth the watch! As you may have witnessed during the Castlevania Block at NES_Fest, he knows his material!

D'aaaaawwwwwwwwww. Now show me a picture of the kitty rubbing the other side of the card with the 3-digit code visible.... ;)

Alright. Spending Thursday night through Sunday morning moving stuff around, standing up, and just having a good time has taken it's toll. I think I'll have to fire up the stream tomorrow when I'm not half asleep. I REALLY need to stop making advance plans to stream each day. lol.

000

Go-Live will be likely around midnight I'm thinking. Chilling in some streams and not quite ready to fire up yet.

Very nice. Sorry I couldn't stop by to say hello this year. Was extremely busy the entire weekend and only could stop down to the convention center for a bit. Hope you all had a fun time there! I saw some displays that had my mouth watering.

Back home and full unpacked from NES_Fest. As always, it was an absolute blast and I loved every second there hanging with everybody in person. Need to get some food in me and just finish decompressing after all that, then we'll go live for some videogaming. Will post again when going live.

I have been having a BLAST at NES_Fest this year! So many awesome friends and speedrunners here, and a lot of fun to be had. I love this event and look forward to it each year. The saddest time is coming when we have to end it and go home.

Jdurg @jdurg.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I kind of slept in today and was super happy to wake up to see the reveal of the new 2D Metroid Game. That game looks super good. It's basically more Metroid Dread style which is what I wanted to see. Nice to see some love from the developers of Metroid, Zelda, and Castlevania for their 40th b-day.

Okay, that got me to literally chuckle out loud. I couldn't really see the text until I looked a bit closer and then it hit me. The delayed jokes are always the best.

Jdurg @jdurg.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Always nice to know you still got it. Quad Drops to end runs/streams feel nice. youtu.be/Phj419wZ7uM

Nintendo announces something; armchair artists and game journalists sprout complaints and insults about the announcement and those who like it. By the way, the sun also rises and sets.

Jdurg @jdurg.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Had a, now former, friend of mine just out of nowhere today text me some really nasty things. He got himself a nice job about a year ago and, knowing I'm seeking a job, said things akin to "AI is doing everything you used to do, so good luck getting a job." Why are people ass-holes like that?

Jdurg @jdurg.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

Streams have been in a period of "when/if I feel like it" of late. It's still been a bit rough in the job hunt but I'm also looking forward to the NES_Fest event coming up in a couple of weeks. It really will be fun meeting up with folks I've called "friends" in various platforms IRL again.

000

Oh, by the way, if a 30 minute trailer of a videogame causes both Netflix and Twitch to crash and burn, just wait for release day. The PSN, Microsoft, and Steam servers will ALL BITE THE DUST! I expect massive crashes all over the place due to the companies being UNABLE to cover the bandwidth.

120

So Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to be The Sims, but with crime added. Sorry, I'll pass big time. Having to get gas for my car, having to keep up with relationships, having to make sure I eat right, make sure I exercise, etc. is stuff I play videogames to get AWAY from. So yeah, big pass here.

000

Twitch is doing something behind the scenes that is severely messing with the website. Causing my computer to lock up as well as it tries to load stuff. No streams are live per my following page, and chat messages are super delayed.

000

Great way to put it. While it hurts to see your icons pass on, when you then think back to the long, full lives they lived and all they did to make other people happy, it makes the pains less sharp. Similar to the passing of Betty White and Jimmy Carter. They each lived long, full lives.
