iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Had the same happen a couple years ago. Went back, found 1 deeply frustrating (but I loved Hollow Bastion) and CoM has sold me on the series. Weirdly reminded me of Silent Hill

Okay I read the first 100 issues haha

Damn AI got to Kingdom Hearts too

Kingdom Hearts 2 character saying "Looks like the culprit is going around stealing ---".

I don't remember the story very well but I do remember collecting the figures to build up the Robot.

Balan Wonderworld was I think my first review assignment and I got given a weekend for it? That was, er. Yeah x

My entire TikTok is just Half-Life fun facts and I'm obsessing. I love Black Mesa a lot but Xen is so bloated that it kinda kills my excitement revisiting as magic as those first moments were. Might just end up playing some of the fan expansions like Echoes.

Painstakingly 100%d it, the purple hat might've broken me. Would do it again.

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 03/01/2026

The only one I haven't played, but I grabbed it in the Steam sale so gonna change that soon

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 12/11/2025

til That's so corny 2010s it's adorable

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 12/11/2025

Steam Deck ushered in a new type of handheld, I can see this doing the same for PC consoles. Really neat to see the space innovating rather than arbitrary generations that feel the same back to back to back.

Im glad to hear that! Fwiw our emails are always open if you do ever find that to be the case.

Being the youngest at work for nearly six years has been really bleak. Feels like generations of talent are being scared off by this industry and it's hard to blame them.

And I look forward to even more obscure movie recommendations

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 22/10/2025

Gonna miss working with you man

That means a lot! Still surreal to be working at such a queer, yet mainstream site.

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 20/10/2025

Slaughter High does not get enough credit. Need to make it an April Fools tradition tbh

90% of games journalism feels like throwing your peers under the bus for clout on social media when you could also reach out? We do plenty of original reporting at TheGamer, and I know for a fact the very talented folks at GamesRadar+ do too.

And while I like Dark Souls 2 more than most, its soundtrack is a good few notches above the game itself.

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 13/10/2025

Recent example but Borderlands 4, best since 2 imo but the tracks are incessantly repetitive and feel like generic trailer backing. Really lost the feel of the series with its score.

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 15/09/2025

You're right one week is a bit generous

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 15/09/2025

An inexperienced writer makes a mistake, gets dogpiled, and people wonder why the industry has such a quick turnover rate.

James Lucas @jdtroughton.bsky.social · 13/09/2025

Dark Souls is among the best of them at that.

It isn't, but they're front and centre on images being passed around and backlinked to. Nobody asks to write this stuff.

I sat down with a few prominent LGBTQ+ champions from The Elder Scrolls Online, from the march organisers to an ESO Stream Team member and top donor for this year's events, to discuss why Pride matters, especially against the challenges they face this year. www.thegamer.com/it-just-show...

My favorite part of SGF was when the Splitgate dude said he wanted to "Make FPS Great Again" and then announced a battle royale mode with Imagine Dragons playing.

If I had a penny for every multi-Doctor regeneration in the last decade, I'd have 4. Which isn't much, buuut--

Can't wait for the inevitable Tennant return where he fancies himself.
