Last night, while imaging Sh2-157 (the Lobster Claw Nebula), I got to test the #SeestarS50Pro for the first time. The setup and learning curve are super fast. First frames on the Moon… gorgeous. (A nice way to compensate for the Moon rise washing out my ongoing Sh2-157 exposures… 🔭

MWP 1 - The Methuselah Nebula captured from my patio on eleven short summer nights in July and August 😊🔭 This was shot on the EdgeHD 8 for a total integration time of about 40 hours in mono with Ha and OIII narrowband filters and combined with RGB stars. #Astrophotography
The Methuselah Nebula is an exceptionally large ancient bipolar planetary nebula and therefore it’s very faint. Despite the long integration time the signal was very weak and noisy so processing this object was quite challenging!

MWP1 is located in the constellation of Cygnus at an estimated distance of about 4,500 light years away from Earth.

🌌✨ Clear skies in Normandy tonight! ☺️ 🔭Targeting SH2-124, a beautiful emission nebula. With the C8 EdgeHD, I’ll only be able to frame the central circular portion. It’s extremely faint, even 180s subs barely reveal it. Let’s see what the stack can pull out! June nights are so short! 😅

A bit of last night's Moon. The prominent crater near the left, above the terminator is Maurolycus, its peaks and floor nicely lit here.
Monochrome telescopic view of the lunar surface, presented roughly east 'up'. Moon is near first quarter, the terminator goes from the lower left to mid right, where the lunar south pole is. The surface is heavily cratered with many craters just catching their first light of the lunar day. Maurolycus appears as a large, complex crater, the floor is partially illuminated revealing smooth and rough areas, and craterlets. The peaks near the centre are bright, and in two groups, with the lower group noticeably elongated in a left to right configuration.
