Do you live in Chapel Hill, NC (or the Triangle)? Do like artists like Brandi Carlile, Joy Oladokun, Amos Lee, Dawes, etc.? I’m J. Dewveall, an Existential Americana artist with a new album about the unraveling & reimagining of the faith I grew up in. And you should come to my show on Sept. 3rd.

There are only 24 copies of this handmade/painted First Edition CD left, and I’ll be heading out on a mini-tour soon, so they might not be around much longer. It’s also Bandcamp Friday, so it’s a perfect day to snag one before it’s gone for good. #Americana #BandcampFriday #MusicSky

Q: Why aren’t there any more protest songs? A: Protest songs are everywhere. You just gotta stick around for longer than 2.4 seconds to get the message.

One last strip tease before the song comes out at midnight, and I start howling at the moon. 🐺 Naked Wolf is my silky smooth R&B alt-country song about devouring every a$$h0l€ who disguises their hatred as love. #Americana #MusicSky #Deconstruction #exvangelical

Echoes of violence that you’re calling light Shining on those who you find appalling Even got the sheep exalting all the pain you’ve justified Selling ‘em Canaan at the cost of carnage Offering freedom that they can’t get ‘hold of Even though you swear it’s all love There’s a snake inside the garden

Have you ever stayed quiet about something you were wrestling with because you were afraid of losing family & friends? One of my biggest fears was that asking certain questions about my faith would cost me relationships with the people I loved. So I stayed quiet & wrestled alone for way too long.

J. Dewveall @jdewveall.com · 28/05/2026

I poured my whole heart into this music, so I made a special First Edition CD of Consequent Nature with just as much heart and soul as the music it contains. Let me know if you want to know where to get one before they’re all gone. #americana

Consequent Nature is a soundtrack for when you’re questioning it all; your deconstruction playlist. It won’t tell you that questions are dangerous, or that you shouldn’t worry about “that stuff.” Your questions are embraced here. #deconstruction #exvangelical #americana

Leaning more toward the trouble side today with my mental health. It’s wild how I can have so many positive things on the horizon, and still feel completely worthless.

Wanna sing in an internet choir? My new album is almost done - just one more thing to do. I want as many people as possible to sing a simple part on the closing song. And I mean simple, anyone can do it. If you’re a fan of my music, & would like to be part of my album, leave a comment & let me know.
