Day 35: Gustave I used AK putty to mask the marble pattern. Its difficult to work with because it really doesn't like to stick (that's the point, keeps paint safe). Airbrushed in black, given 5 mins, and then removed putty. #hobbystreak #minipainting #3dprinting #modelpainting #artsky #e33

Day 34: Gustave I brushed the whole base in thin deck tan colour. Then I did brush strokes of black, more deck tan, and silver over the top. I realise this looks insane atm but this will be the base coat for a marble effect! #hobbystreak #minipainting #3dprinting #modelpainting

Day 30: Gustave Nice weather meant I could airbrush (which I do outdoors) 🌞 3 parts matt varnish + 1 part thinner. Didn't drench the model; worked quickly over and over with a low spray volume. Stopped shy of visible sheen. A continual misting I'd say for 3-4 mins? #hobbystreak #minipainting

VR! Trak Racer TR80 lite, second hand Fanatec Clubsport gear, and my trusty Reverb G2 headset. BST-1 bass shaker mounted under seat. I adore this rig. Minimal, cost-effective, with incredible immersion, and eating only 70x140cm of floor space. Has seen me through many hours of enduros 🏁

Day 8A: Gustave. Painted mo/brows. Added sclera, then iris outline. Filled in with green/brown, and then dotted pupil. At <3mm wide, these eyes were a serious challenge. 2x phone cam is v unflattering, but looks good irl. I've ruined eyes before by chasing perfection; it's always a risk!

Day 4B: Gustave He is way too orange/pink but I had success with making a realistic/weathered skin texture (different to the porcelain look I did on 2B) 1: brown paint flicks (toothbrush) 2: red wash 3: yellow wash 4: green wash Washes made of water and glaze. Need to desaturate the look next.

Day 4: Gustave Still working up thin base skin layers with brush. 1 - elf skin + water 2 - above + red 3 - above + yellow 4 - elf + white + glaze Colour 4 has ended up close to base colour 1, but has more complexity. Not done yet! #e33 #modelmaking #minipainting #resinprinting #hobbystreak

Day 3: Gustave A slapdash skin base of: 3 parts elf skin, 2 white, 1 glaze, 1 water. Many more coats to come On this model I will try a new skin method that uses brushing and washes (minimal air brush if any). #e33 #modelmaking #minipainting #resinprinting #garagekit #gk #hobbystreak

Day 2B: Gustave. Winter here, but a nice sunny afternoon so I moved straight to airbrushing primer (1 part Vallejo primer to 2 parts thinner). Difficult model to handle because the bust is just one large piece w/ delicate details 🤔 Primer done! #resinprinting #e33 #minipainting #3dprinting
