I am lowkey addicted to Pokemon Pokopia. It's such a cute, fun, cosy game. I haven't really played anything after gen 3 so seeing all these weird-ass pokemon pop out of the grass is hilarious. I finished the Pokedex yesterday too :3 Now to start my building plans in earnest!

Both! Ignorance is one thing, but people should be researching things before using them. The use of it is egregious by default, imo. In this instance, intention is related to cause. Using it is bad, even if you don't know it's bad.

That's just not true though. BIG companies are. My company uses it but has found (rightly) that its use is narrow in scope and cannot be used for most things. I'll happily boycott companies using it egregiously. And hey, saying "everyone does it sooo..." is very defeatist. If you like it, just say!

Canva does have AI features that you can ignore. It does use data centres - not to the extent of OpenAI, Anthropic etc. It is everywhere, but you absolutely CAN escape it. Making an active choice not to use it helps :-)

Generative AI was built using other people's work i.e., stealing. Fed into a machine that then 'creates' stuff for you. The use of the datacentres also is an environmental disaster. The RAM and storage use in said datacentres has forced prices of those things for consumers uo by 400%+ in last 2yr.

I sort of get what you're saying but... hating a small business for apostrophe (mis)usage is pedantry. Hating them for AI use is justified in that generative AI is completely ethically wrong. Not least its entire existence being built off the theft of others' work.
