So, sat down and drew basic versions of the Landing Barge and the basic EUAF utility vehicles in #openscad . Tthey feature in my #TotalWar #scifi setting. These things are pretty massive with a max take off weight of around 6000 tonnes. But I have to choose a #camo scheme. Thoughts? #sff #booksky

Two shots of different camouflage schemes for the landing barges that feature in my uocoming book, Dropship Down.

I should probably be doing other things, but instead I'm procrastinating by fiddling with my new #photomode in my #godotengine tool. The sword from is from #I.33 #Alagariel, with Maiden's Tower in the background. #booksky #fantasy #TalesOfVatan #sff #creativewriting jceberdt.eu/photomode-di...

Of course, while putting maps into a 3D game engine, I couldn't resist trying to build one of the scenes from #TheHalfElvenOrphan from #TalesOfVatan. Still needs more detail, but the vibe is there. jceberdt.eu/temptations-... #godot #worldbuilding #booksky #sff #fantasy #indieauthor

Bit more progess on the mapping front. Here you can see the projected maps and the resulting OGIS layer (first image). First editing functions are in, can place towns, roads, rivers and bring altitude up and down. #booksky #godot #worldbuilding #maps #TalesOfVatan #fantasy #sff #ogis #indieauthor

The data extracted into OGIS and reprojected on the globe.

Westmarch local map (even more detail) overlayed on the mid-size projected map. The projections analysed wtith Claude Code to make the OGIS layer.

Biggest projection and a smaller one with more detail. All projected on a globe with vatans dimetnisions. Climate bands are just visitble.

I've been using Claude Code to get my maps projected onto a globe in an open source 3d game engine (Godot). Here's the first result. #booksky #fantasy #godotengine #godot4 #worldbuilding #TalesOfVatan #fantasylor #sff jceberdt.eu/vatan-in-god...

Day job projects have finally wound down a bit, so I can invest some time into final edits for Dropship Down. Hopefully, I'll manage to get it out soon. Cover's ready, just a few days of work left. #scfi #sff #nearfutur #reading #science-fiction #creativewriting #booksky #indieauthor

Cover artist is working on Dropship Down. There's a crashing dropship (obviously). As there's a bit of a fire involved I got to wondering where the pressure tanks were. #scifi #writing #worldbuilding

dariajordan.eu, who does my covers had promised be some flavour sketches for #TalesOfVatan and she sent me a few things. Here's the first one and I think, in setting, it's going to be a sketch of ruins at Hightower, by Cyrus Sardinus, from his guidebooks. #booksky #booktube #worldbuilding #fantasy

Just thought I'd repost the #coverart for #Alagariel I: The Half Elven Orphan. Looks like it will be available soon(tm). The final text has had some substantial changes from the website version, not to the story, but to the way it's told. #booksky #reading #wirting #fantasy #sff #TalesOfVatan

Cover art for The Half Elven Orphan, book one of the Alagariel series in the Tales of Vatan setting. A medieval fiery haired half elf is riding a black Friesian across a river at night with an inn and mountains in the background.

So here's a rough sketch I did of the Droopy drop ship that's in my SF setting. Many scenes take place in or around one of these. This explains the more fiction than science tech that gets it to and from orbit (SPOILERS): jceberdt.eu/settings/tot...
