Hello friends! I have good news and bad news. Good news, I HAVE A CAR AND IT'S LEGAL! My Mom/sister & I went through hell so she could sell it (long story) but it's finally mine! Bad news: timing. Car registered yesterday, rent due in 1.5 hours. My split pay just allowed me to reapply to pay $336.

The world is literally melting with record highs everywhere, and I, as a 41 year old trans woman with only a bicycle and no car, have to decide if what I need to go do that day is worth risking heat stroke over. How am I supposed to get to a job or do anything in this heat? 🥵😭🫠

It's #PrideMonth and I'm very proud to be who I am, a trans woman with an amazing wife and a supportive family. :) It took a bit to get to the point where I was truly comfortable as myself. Luckily, almost 6 years of HRT and some surgeries have helped. I never thought I would pass. I'm thankful. ^^

Here's a couple other things, the amount I still have to pay rent (I have about $730 left which I tried to use to split rent in May but they declined me now I need $1404 total before court fees hit, then I have to earn money to pay other bills I owe. And we aren't going anywhere. Trans people didn't stop being trans just bc society didn't accept them. They fought and lived despite that. In that way, they laid the groundwork for us to continue living in their honor. Remember them, honor them. Live your best life regardless.

We remember all transgender people who are no longer with us, lost to hate, violence, suicide and the immense hardships of systemic oppression.

This Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember those who we lost to transphobia and discrimination and I'm the honour we continue to fight.
