I’ve been making friendship bracelets since I was 11. Never once have I followed a pattern, I’ve always made up my own. But it’s Ch4’s birthday tomorrow and they asked me to make a #Splatoon themed one from an online pattern. A couple of false starts & several hours later, here it is.

A red, yellow, green, & dark grey friendship bracelet. There are four stylised yellow squids and four stylised grey ones, with a red border (colour choices not mine, I’d have chosen better contrast but Ch4 will be wearing it so they get to choose)

Took Ch4 to Birmingham today for a tattoo. Only they forgot their ID, so no tattoo. BUT 😁 we were then only 14 miles away from @harvingtonhall.bsky.social and I’ve wanted to go there for aaaaages So we went & had the full tour and I am very, very happy. It was fab #DayOut

Evening constitutional round the local reservoir. It’s looking very low… #sunset

Evening sky in shades of pastel blue and orange over a reservoir. There is a lot more muddy shoreline showing on the left hand side than there usually is. The grass in the foreground is brown and parched.

This guy was So Over It at the local street market this weekend. Felt very sorry for him & his buddies, they all looked really pissed off #owl

The owl is quite large with mostly orangey-brown plumage. He has quite spectacular feathered eyebrows (not ears!) and his piercing orange eyes are partially closed.

I am quite a long way up a hill in the #LakeDistrict (better phone signal up here than in the hotel!), so here’s a photo of the view

Got some excellent (if I say so myself) bee photos this morning while we were waiting on campus for other people to arrive. There were two very busy feeding on a thistle. #bees I’m particularly proud of the third pic 🐝

Went to #Tynemouth Priory & Castle this afternoon. Very grey & breezy but had a good wander round. Favourite photo is this door with its gorgeous hinges (or the ghost of hinges in places)
