You might read or watch or listen to the finished product. But what you're enjoying is the creators' lived experience for the months and years it took them to create it. And that's why art is so important. Great beauty comes out of some of the darkest days, days we all experience.

There's a tendency with creative projects to focus on the final product. As a musician I've seen people get so excited about my music when it's fun and vibey and it's a "product" they like.

Creating my book and the soundtrack has become such an important part of my expression, that it's helped me get through some of the toughest parts of my life these last 5 years. It helps me process and put my anxieties, stress and sadness towards a purpose.

Totally agree. Especially when an indie author is managing what several departments inside a traditional publishing business are doing. The digital era has created a race to the bottom in terms of pricing - music, movies, books. The loss-leader effect of Amazon.

It's become a very messy situation. Most publishers have AI policies outlining in detail to authors how AI can and can't be used in writing a piece. Likewise authors are then being questioned, even when AI hasn't been used. It's definitely hurting publisher-editor-author relationships.
