On the train to the Köln airport now. This was a very fun time between GDQ, meeting David Wise (and hearing him play alongside the awesome JiggyTones band!!), meeting Bubzia after his blindfold OoT run, trying out some games, seeing the booths and getting some cool merch and fanart!

Only at Gamescom can you sit down at the only free seat in a room after a long search and suddenly have Donkey Kong Country composer David Wise himself jump out in front of you to play sax. Did not expect that.

A band on stage in a hall. On saxophone David Wise, composer of the classic videogame Donkey Kong Country.

This is an example of what video game music is all about. 2 generations of composers and musicians performing together - one having written the music, the rest having grown up with it - and sharing their passion for the craft there, at that very moment. Can't believe we got to do this with Dave ❤️

There are so, so, SO many of us composers out there, and a vast majority of us are willing to work within your budget. Some of us are happy to work for free, with the promise of a percentage of the game's revenue. There is NEVER a reason to resort to generative AI slop music. NEVER. TALK TO US.
