The yo-yo temps and dynamic spring weather are making it hard to get out for a run. Yesterday, torrential rain and wind. and ~15°C, and today, sunny but -5°C. Bundling up I guess. #fakespring #NovaScotia
A graph from the Eve Weather app showing two temperatures: one from yesterday at 10:48 am that is 14.1°C and one from today at 9:08 am that says -4.9°C. For context, the Eve sensor is in my back yard.

"a few weeks"! While, I understand that it may take time for the deletion of data in backups etc., this still sounds like they still use fax machines and landlines to me.
The image reads:

Hi Jay,

Thanks for reaching out to Optimizely Support! I understand you're looking to have your account and all assets related to it deleted. I've forwarded this to the responsible team. Since the account deletion process involves multiple teams and systems, this can take a few weeks to be completed. I'll keep this ticket open and update you once it's done.

Does anyone know if there's a way to report an error to Apple Music? There's some rando band using the same artist name as the Australian, EMI recording artist, Olympia, with their new rather mid album plonked onto her Apple Music profile. I was excited she might have dropped a new album but nope.
Screenshot of the Apple Music artist page for Olympia. The profile photo shows a black-and-white portrait of a woman with short blond hair. The page title says “Olympia,” but the latest release displayed is Me Estoy Volviendo Loco – Single by unrelated artists. The albums listed—Walt Returns and Flamingo—and top songs such as Goodnight Fabian and Honeymoon Fever suggest that music from a different band named Olympia has been added to this artist’s profile by mistake.

I asked Claude the same question. I don't generally use LLMs for such questions, but many people do. It reflects what I normally see in the poor-quality/false AI results at the top of Google Search. Google sucks at getting us the answers we need. It used to be its raison d’être.
Screenshot of a Claude AI chat interface showing a user's question "What's the difference between Gemini 2.5 Flash and 2.5 flash lite?" followed by Claude's response. The response is organized into three main sections: Performance vs Speed Trade-offs (explaining that Gemini 2.5 Flash is Google's best model for price and performance, while 2.5 Flash-Lite is 1.5 times faster at lower cost), Thinking Capabilities (noting that Flash features visible thinking processes while Flash-Lite has thinking turned off by default for speed), and Use Cases (describing Flash as better for complex reasoning tasks and Flash-Lite as excelling at high-volume, latency-sensitive tasks like translation and classification).

Testing out Gemini Flast 2.5 in T3.Chat and asked it: "What's the difference between Gemini 2.5 Flash and 2.5 Flash Lite?" Its response: "As of my last update, there isn't a publicly announced or widely recognized model variant called "Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite" alongside "Gemini 2.5 Flash.""
Screenshot of a T3.chat interface where a user asks about the difference between "Gemini 2.5 Flash" and "2.5 Flash Lite." The response explains there's no official model called "Flash Lite" and suggests it might be a misunderstanding, future model, or naming confusion. It outlines typical differences if a "Lite" model existed—smaller size, faster speed, lower computational cost, and reduced capabilities. The selected model in the chat interface is "Gemini 2.5 Flash."

Lee Valley is awesome. They have some awesome kitchen tools. Recent purchases include a ginger grater that works amazingly well.
A person is grating a piece of ginger on a flat, hexagonal Lee Valley Hand Grater (item EV536) held over a clear glass bowl. The grater has a dark gray surface with small, raised holes that shred the yellow ginger as it's rubbed across the surface. The grated ginger collects in the glass bowl below. The image is shown on the Lee Valley website with navigation buttons on either side and the product name "Hand Grater" displayed underneath.

I was surprised to see our little town of Bridgewater Nova Scotia on CBC Morning Live this morning. Everything is coated in ice this morning after snow yesterday turned to rain and then froze overnight. 🥶

That is not. It is Catherine Cullen, the host of The House on CBC Radio and sometimes sub-host on Power and Politics on News Network.

The tweet includes a screenshot of an official notice from Ian Wagschal, Director of Facilities Management, stating that boiled or bottled water is not available on campus. The notice advises students to obtain drinking water by either boiling it at home, boiling it on campus, or bringing bottled water. It directs questions or concerns to Facilities Management and ends with 'Thank you for your understanding.'

Christmas holiday time at our house is for tabletop games and movies. Games shown are Thunder Road: Vendetta, Cascadia, and Mycelium. All played on the game table we built a couple of years ago.
A game of Thunder Road: Vendetta in progress on a green gaming table. The main game board shows a post-apocalyptic highway with multiple lanes bordered by yellow desert terrain. Small car miniatures in white, green, and blue are positioned along the road, with red hazard markers scattered throughout. Various dice and game components are visible on the sides. The game box art showing an orange muscle car is displayed in the background. A game of Cascadia in progress on a green table. The main play area shows a cluster of hexagonal terrain tiles with wildlife tokens placed on top of them. The tokens are colored discs in blue, orange, pink, and brown, each featuring different animal symbols. Several habitat cards are visible in the left corner, and there's a pile of additional tokens in the background.A game of Mycelium in progress on a green table. The main play area shows a pattern of triangular tiles in red, orange, brown, and grey colors, arranged in a larger hexagonal shape. Each tile features intricate fungal-themed patterns and numbers around the edges. Orange and red wooden mushroom-shaped pieces are placed on various tiles, along with some white tokens and circular markers. Character cards are visible at the top of the image, and there's a black game board piece with Celtic-style artwork visible at the bottom.

Tonight’s Christmas film selection is Black Christmas (1974). A classic horror set at Christmas.
A movie poster for "Black Christmas" (1974) featuring a holiday-themed design with an unsettling twist. The top text reads "If this movie doesn't make your skin crawl... IT'S ON TOO TIGHT!" The central image shows a black and white photograph framed within a holly wreath with red berries. The photograph depicts a dark, moody scene with a person in silhouette, suggesting tension or horror. The film's title appears on a red ribbon banner at the bottom, along with credits listing Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder, and John Saxon as stars, directed by Bob Clark. The design contrasts traditional cheerful Christmas imagery with horror elements, including a "Season's Greetings" banner placed ironically above the dark photograph.

Sam Rockwell is awesome. My favourite Star Trek (wrong answer) is him in Moon.
Actor Sam Rockwell in a scene from the film 'Moon', wearing a gray maintenance jumpsuit with 'LUNAR' and crew patches with orange accents. He's examining a small tool or device in his hands, wearing a white undershirt beneath the jumpsuit. The scene takes place in what appears to be an industrial or technical facility with institutional lighting giving the space a yellow, clinical tone.

The robot has accordion-like flexible arms and a circular translucent chest panel with lights visible inside. In the background, there's a control panel with various buttons and displays."

The image is from the late 1970s/early 1980s TV series Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, and shows the characteristic retro-futuristic design aesthetic of that era. The character was known for its distinctive appearance and electronic beeping speech patterns on the show.

I saw someone share that this is exactly how he’s operating using Arthur Finkelstein’s method which is apparently what follows in the image.
The image shows a movie clapperboard with the title "The Finkelstein Method". Below is a numbered list contains the following text:

1. Don't provide details on policy, it's unimportant to win. No actionable and measurable plans are required. Just vague policy statements.

2. Continuous character assassination of strongest opposition. Encourage other opposition parties to help.

3. Introduce divisive scandalous issues like drugs, sex or crime, use to denigrate the strongest opposition.

4. Politically loaded issues used to divide the electorate into tribes.

5. Disinformation campaigns to confuse and demoralize the electorate. Create a post-truth environment.

6. Present the opposition as the enemy.

They are suing. They should. This part of the constitution needs to be strengthened by the courts because Sec. 107 is so fucking ambiguous. I don’t know what else can be done. Especially as I sit in a shitty riding with a CPC MP.
Section 107 of the Canada Labour Code, titled "Additional powers". The text states that "The Minister, where the Minister deems it expedient, may do such things as to the Minister seem likely to maintain or secure industrial peace and to promote conditions favourable to the settlement of industrial disputes or differences and to those ends the Minister may refer any question to the Board or direct the Board to do such things as the Minister deems necessary."

Right. Your Resources need to have Rich Text set to off. You can also turn off the Rich Text Default setting in System Settings. To change all your docs, the easiest way to do that is in the DB using phpMyAdmin or another DB editor so you can set the richtext field value to 0 for all the resources.
The image shows the Settings tab of the Resource Edit view in MODX Revolution. The "Resource Type" is set to "Document" and the "Content Type" is set to "HTML". The "Set off" toggle for "Rich Text" is highlighted, indicating that the Rich Text option is turned off.

A screenshot of the "System Settings & Events" page in the MODX Revolution content management system. The "System Settings" tab is selected, and it displays various configuration settings for the MODX manager interface and site.

2. "Editor to use" with the value set to "Monaco", which sets the Monaco editor as the default editor.
3. "Editor to use for Elements" with the value set to "Monaco", which sets the Monaco editor as the default editor for elements.

The image also shows a search filter at the top that allows the user to filter the settings by namespace and area. The "editor" option is selected in the "Filter by area..." dropdown.

Sailors be warned. On this late November morning, the sky is painted in a striking palette of reds, pinks, oranges, purples, and blues—a vibrant canvas perfectly mirrored in the waters of the LaHave River in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
A serene and picturesque scene of the LaHave River at dawn. The river is reflected in the still water, creating a mirrored effect that doubles the beauty of the scene. In the background, the sky is ablaze with a stunning display of warm colors, ranging from deep reds and oranges to soft pinks and purples. The silhouettes of tall pine trees frame the scene, adding depth and a natural feel to the landscape. Several sailboats are moored in the river, their masts and riggings casting long shadows on the water's surface. The overall atmosphere is one of tranquility and natural beauty, capturing the quiet and peaceful start to the day.

A reflective, grey November day on the LaHave River in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
A scenic view of the LaHave River at dawn. The river is calm and still, reflecting the surrounding landscape. Several sailboats and yachts are moored in the river, their masts standing tall against the overcast sky. The shore is lined with trees, some of which have bare branches reaching out over the water. In the foreground, a concrete boat launch can be seen, leading down into the water. Large rocks and natural elements along the shoreline add to the peaceful, natural atmosphere of the scene.

I found this graphic by Alison Graham of Truro that may not be exhaustive but is Nova Scotia-focused. If you do use it. The provincial responsibilities are in the following post and should be attached as alt text. Sadly, it misses some of the regulative bodies and oversight.
A chart of government responsibilities in Canada:
Title: Levels of Government in Canada: Who does what?
The chart is divided into three columns representing the three levels of government in Canada: Federal, Provincial, and Municipal.

Soft pastel light spreads through the clouds over the LaHave River this morning.
A peaceful dawn scene along the LaHave River, in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, with a concrete boat launch ramp leading out into the calm waters. Yachts and sailboats are moored in the distance, others line the surface of the shore, and the sky is filled with a beautiful array of colorful clouds. The shoreline is lined with rocks and trees, creating a serene and natural setting.

”Wish I could watch it again for the first time”
An excerpt of the screenplay for the 1997 film "The Game" directed by David Fincher. The text in the red box contains a quote from the character Businessman 1, who says to Nicholas: "I envy you. I wish I could go back and do it for the first time all over again..."

I found it on TS.
A screenshot of Truth Social post from Donald Trump that says:

“As everyone is aware, thousands of people are pouring through Mexico and Canada, bringing Crime and Drugs at levels never seen before. Right now a Caravan coming from Mexico, composed of thousands of people, seems to be unstoppable in its quest to come through our currently Open Border. On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders. This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country! Both Mexico and Canada have the absolute right and power to easily solve this long simmering problem. We hereby demand that they use this power, and until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price!”

Meanwhile employees are more likely to see earnings increases only when they leave. Many employers don’t even offer cost of living increases. Admittedly the following graph may have narrower in 2024, the fact remains that changing employers is the way for employees to gain in most cases.
A line graph showing the median percentage change in U.S. workers' real earnings compared to the same month in the previous year, from December 2020 to March 2022. The graph tracks two lines: one for workers who stayed with the same employer (light teal) and one for workers who changed to a new employer (dark teal). The 'same employer' line starts at 2.4% and gradually declines to -1.7%. The 'new employer' line starts at 1.8%, remains relatively flat until December 2021, then sharply increases to 9.7% by March 2022. The y-axis ranges from -4% to 12% in increments of 4.

52 today. A glorious maple cupcake made by @tracysannes.bsky.social
A single cupcake with swirled maple-flavoured icing on top. The cupcake is sitting on a slate-gray surface. The icing has a smooth, creamy texture and is piped in a spiral pattern on top of the maple-flavored cupcake.
