I've been trying to articulate this in a way which doesn't sound judgmental, and apparently that sounds like a fortune cookie. But seriously, a question I ask a lot is "If I get used to this new system, what problems am I signing up for when I'm inevitably rug pulled?" and it's served me quite well

Great thread here, and I'll add to it that my experience suggests this literacy crisis extends to non-textual media as well.

One angle to misinformation which probably needs more attention is the inability of people to understand the weedier mechanisms of relevance. Saw an anti-solar screed citing all the toxic compounds in solar panels. Writer of said screed doesn't understand most panels don't use those compounds!

The worst part about this whole 2xko debacle, is that the loudest people possible will have the "cant believe we waited 10 years for THIS" and think they knew the right path the whole time. The overall righteousness that people in the FGC have about being right is incredibly off-putting

I just did a presentation where the topic was covered, and this was pretty much my conclusion. I would advise any developer against gen AI for assets, it's just not worth it. The contracts I draft for clients already call out its use, and it's becoming increasingly common to see at all sizes.

gamesradar.com

Echoing Palworld dev, video game lawyer says all her clients have anti-AI contracts because gamers hate it and it's a copyright landmine: "I think we're going to see lawsuits"

"Don't touch it. It's not worth the legal liability"

Since I'm back down to zero 'active' runs, here's my thoughts for the future: (I think there are some overhaul projects for Other M? I'd be down to give it a try if the stars align and it's good - very low priority though) ...but now the question is: do I make myself sick playing Prime 2 in VR? 👀

I 100%'d AM2R today! (from getting to 95% a few months back, so I just finally *actually* did the end of the game) ...unfortunately, I pressing my Screenshot hotkey didn't work (alt-tab'd the fullscreen game + counted as a "press any button to continue") so I don't have the 'main' 100% picture 😭

Went back and got the last scan before I forgot the controls too much ...man, I really wish I liked this game 😭 I hope they can build off it in the future, and hopefully with less restarting-dev-baggage Anyways, next is probably AM2R but playing 4 has made me really want to go replay Prime 2... 🤔

What's crazy is that while the desert certainly isn't good, I wouldn't actually agree that it was the worst part of the game 😭 I would agree that it (or the Bike, depending on which you consider the origin) is the genesis of a huge number of the other (...non-story...) design issues though

SSF | Jaxas @jaxas.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

Bonus! The ending was so bad that while I missed exactly 1 scan in it, I have nothing but dread for the thought of replaying it to get 100% 😭

I finally completed Metroid Prime 4! I really enjoyed parts of it! Unfortunately I really, REALLY disliked parts of it too 🫠 I wanted to love this game, it just... has way too many rough patches, and oh my god that is one of the worst endings I've played in years, *both* gameplay and story-wise 😭
