Just got done reading The Fox Wife yesterday. I enjoyed it quite a bit, it's actually kind of 2 different stories up until the end flipping back and forth every chapter between a private investigator & a fox woman seeking revenge set just before the fall of the Qing Dynasty.

I went up north to do some hiking this weekend. It ended up raining a lot, which was pretty annoying, but in between rain I was able to hit Petobego Pond, Fisherman's Island State Park, Stutsmanville Bog, Consuelo and Charles Forest Reserve, & a few others.

Furry Migration was simply amazing, seriously one of the best fur cons I've ever been to. The room party block is one of the best features of any fur con, it made for a truly unique experience & it is an excellent way to meet some awesome furries.

On the way home from Furry Migration I made 3 more really quick stops at Little Cannon River Falls & Vermilion Falls in Minnesota and Glen Park Falls in Wisconsin. It took me 10 hours to get home after the last stop :P

Before getting to Furry Migration on Friday I made a few waterfall stops along the way including at Big Falls & Cascade Falls in Wisconsin and Fairy Falls & Minnehaha Falls in Minnesota.

I ended up only making a few stops today. The statue is Chief Walks With The Wind in Starved Rock State Park. Artist Peter "Wolf" Toth carved 50 of these Indian statues, one for each state. This is only the 2nd one I've seen after Michigan's. The waterfall is Trout Falls on Fort McCoy in Wisconsin.

I had to fight this Winter Wren for 25 minutes to get a nice photo. I think I finally tired him out as he actually stood in the same spot for another 30 seconds so that I also was able to get a short video of him as well.

I headed south to do some hiking on Sunday. Fall colors were past their peak, but I was still able to get some nice colors in a few spots. Photos are from Mt. Baldhead in Saugatuck & along the Kal-Haven trail in South Haven.

A Wilson's Snipe from Martinique Island that I saw on October 11th. These birds are really tough to photograph as they stand super still & will fly before you see them. I had 3 this day that were super tame compared to normal so I was actually able to get a decent photo.

It's been awhile, but I've finally finished a new map of my own. It was made as a tribute to Jim Bargrow's Maps 16 & 14 from Realm of Chaos. My map is called The Wolf's Den & it will appear in Realm of Chaos 2 which will have it's first public release is just a few days from now.

Additionally while standing on the foredune at the edge of Lake Michigan looking north I was able to see the Escanaba Michigan water tower which is located over 145 miles away. This is by far and away the most distant object I've ever seen do to a temperature inversion.

On Friday before I got to the con I hit 3 more parks which were Rockbridge State Nature Preserve, Christmas Rocks State Nature Preserve, & Pickerington Ponds Metropark where I had a very cooperative Henslow's Sparrow which was really cool.

I headed down toward Columbus on Thursday to spend the weekend at AnthrOhio, as always I hit a ton of trails and waterfalls along the way including Springville Marsh State Nature Preserve, Shrum Mound State Memorial, Rock Mill Falls, & Rock Stalls Falls Nature Preserve.

I left MCFC a bit early on Sunday to hit a few parks in Ohio on my way to the Dayton area which is where I planned on viewing the Eclipse. These parks were Kitty Todd State Nature Preserve & The Miami and Erie Canal Deep Cut.

On Sunday during the bomb threat I walked over to North Bay Park again & saw some a lot of silly animals. Like this Canada Goose & superman Turtle. I also saw a Horned Grebe, you'll never guess how it got it's name.

On Saturday while at MCFC I walked over to the boardwalk at North Bay Park & did a loop there. I saw some ducks including Gadwall, Northern Shoveler, & Blue Winged Teal.
