I went to Spain 3 times and travelled all over in the 2000s. Always with some time in Madrid and basically filled a suitcase each time with Spanish products from the big El Corte Ingles food hall in the Plaza Mayor. Would really love to go back.

The bagel was plain - the white anchovies were a topping and also on the garnish. It was DELICIOUS. Despana is an amazing Spanish grocery/market in the city - they have fantastic stuff but it's definitely a wallet emptier.

Done my DIY for the day. With the help of a local hardware store and some extremely noxious chemicals finally scraped off the dessicated rubberized backing from an old bathroom rug that had fused itself to the tile. It's only taken me like three years to get to it 🤣

It's great and the leftovers get better every day, natch. It can a fridge clearout as well - various other veg work with the base ingredients. Kale, chard or other hearty greens work also instead of spinach.

It's super easy to make, Hass. I use this recipe but instead of mussels I used clams. Added the shrimp later than the recipe says so they don't overcook.
