If Emanuel gets the nomination there are a lot of folks who will stay home. He's hoping that he can ride "vote blue no matter who," his connections, and his fundraising network into power. Or, maybe he's just a stalking horse.

Yet another story that is going to assume the lives of the wealthy at elite universities represent all of higher ed.

The new "communist" boogieman is now ... good government and the concept of being a public servant. Leadership is service, and US voters are starving for this foundational bit of representative democracy. Taking the opposite path is just "we're the party of big potholes as the framers intended." 😏

When I talk about helping the poor, wealthy folks always say "oh, $ doesn't buy happiness." I just spent the last 2 days reading of the good Dolly Parton did with her millions. Literacy, music, jobs, health care, disaster relief: $ doesn't buy happiness, but giving it away sure does.

❤️ this from Ryan Booth. A little humility when evaluating other's work helps you write your own book. Scholarly maturity sees you setting reasonable parameters for your work, and on the flip side you ask if another scholar's book does what it says it will do instead making a list of wild demands. 🗃️
