Would love to know how many people actually install Adobe Genuine Service. Surely there can't be enough people using BOTH pirated Adobe software and installing Creative Cloud to make this "feature" worthwhile?
The Adobe Creative Cloud installer. Circled in yellow is a checkbox, with text that reads:

Adobe Genuine Service (AGS)
Install Adobe Genuine Service (AGS) which periodically checks whether Adobe apps on this machine are genuine and may notify you if they are not.

Here's the photo.
A snowy picturesque photo of the bridge over the river Windrush on Sherborne street, Bourton-on-the-water, looking southwest over the bridge and down the street from the east bank.

The bridge is small and low, with Cotswold stone houses lining the street behind it.

Interesting correlation with this map of religious demographics. From en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religio...
Dominant religious affiliation at district level according to the 2022 census in Germany. Mauve: Protestant, yellow: Catholic, green: Others (no denomination, other religion or not given). Dark: absolute majority (> 50 %), light: relative majority. Hatchings: Population share of Catholics and Protestants (right-inclined hatchings), and Others (left-inclined hatchings) at least 75 %. The “others” group nowhere is represented by more than 90 %, but nowhere by less than 10 % either.

It's church lunch day. To some that will invoke memories of everything-flavour soup or the most random of pot luck/bring-and-share offerings. Not with my MiL in charge! Roast beef with all the trimmings
Two large joints of Beef in a roasting in.Three large pans filled with peeled and chopped potatoes, ready to cook.Trays of stuffing balls sat on a table in a kitchen. Hands are forming stuffing balls in the foreground.

Just showed this to a member of the #Umbraco Security and Privacy Community Team and they literally put their head in their hands.
A screenshot from the BBC News app. Underneath a Photo of Sir Kier Starmer is the headline "Digital ID to be compulsory for all UK adults under government plans"

Some designers just want to watch the world burn.
A dark purple circle on a white background. Below the circle is written #DB4981 - purportedly it's hexadecimal colour value. Overlaid on the image is it's actual value: #200d2f

Tomorrow's dinner is on. New chimney/smokestack and upgraded fire-basket are doing a great job - even if it did mean grinding metal outside on the hottest day of the year.
A UDS - Ugly Drum Smoker, composed of an upright black-painted 40 gallon steel drum with two copper pipes, about half the length of the drum, attached vertically to its side and entering the drum at the bottom. The pipes are terminated with ball valves with bright red handles. From the back of the drum protrudes a tall chimney, about half the height again of the drum. A small amount of thin white smoke is exiting the chimney. The drum has a plain steel lid with two handles. Attached to the handle of one ball valve is a bright orange thermometer transmitter with two wires entering the drum under the lid.

In the background a 6' dark wooden fence runs from the left of the shot and meets a dark wooden shed to the right. The drum sits on a wooden plinth, itself straddling a boundary between a dead lawn and block paving. Behind this a border with bark chippings and two small shrubs.

Giant radioactive rodent it is ☢️🐀 Finally got round to tracing the cables (honestly forgot where we ran these 10 years ago). Will be joining and re-terminating tonight, and taking the opportunity to upgrade the WiFi.
The frayed ends of two Cat6 cables, with their twisted pairs unravelling at random lengths. The purple outer sheath and translucent star filler are visibly chewed.

Second side quest completed. Every single felt tip pen in the cupboard, that's 200, now has the correct cap. A friend, who's aware of my ADHD, walked by and was surprised I had the attention span for this. Time to explain to them about hyper focus.
Approximately 100 different felt tip pens are led, roughly side by side, on a bright blue table. They're aligned with their cap facing north. Only their caps, and their very ends are coloured, their body is white.

I really want to avoid reinventing the wheel here, just this once. Dependency has exactly the code I need... I can see it. And yet:
The Woody and Buzz "Everywhere" meme.
It reads:
PRIVATE METHODS
EVERYWHERE

And we have internet 🙏🙌 Sure, there's a purple cable trailing through the middle of the worship space this morning, but purple is the correct liturgical colour for lent!
In the foreground, the YouTube Studio streaming interface is loaded on a PC monitor. In the background, a lectern stands to the left of a wooden altar table with an open bible on it. Between them on a wall is a Christian cross. Trailing across the wooden floor from the lectern to below the PC monitor is a long purple cable.

There's a diagram for this somewhere. Can I find it? No. Should I have labelled these when I installed them... yes.
Two black Cat 6 patch panels sit on a wooden shelf. Above them, just in frame, is a small router on another wooden shelf. Several short green patch cables run from the router to the panels. Short red and orange patch cables run between the panels.

It's 8:45 on Sunday morning and I'm at church... terminating Cat6 cables. With a bit of crawling around and a lot of prayer, there's every chance yet that this morning's service will be live streamed.
A hand holds up an RJ45 cable tester. The Cable tester is plugged into a network cable. The tester is in two connected parts, for testing each end of a cable. On each part a green LED at position #4 is lit up.

Two astronauts in space look at planet Earth. The second astronaut, shocked, exclaims a realization: 'JavaScript on the server is a bad idea'. The first astronaut, holding a gun pointed at the back of the other, responds coldly, 'Always has been,' revealing they knew the truth all along.

This may just become required watching for any future junior devs I hire.
The "go", "grow leaf", "repeat" and "stop" Wonderblocks (anthropomorphic blocks representing actions) are holding hands in a line from left to right. "repeat" is forming a loop with "grow leaf", with a number 2 above his head representing how many more repeats there are.

Wonderblocks is fantastic. Watching it with 4yo, who's sick home from school. It's designed to teach young children to code. The emphasis on stopping and breaking down complex problems is great.
A TV in a living room. Playing on the TV is a colourful scene where a group of anthropomorphic coloured blocks are holding hands. A green "go" block, 5 "do" blocks representing directions, and a red "stop" block are helping a frog to cross a river by forming a program.

AI search summaries are wild.
A screenshot of an "AI Overview" from Google search which is talking about a known exoplanet "travelling at a speed of 1.2 million miles per hour, which is significantly faster than the speed of light" - I've underlined that last part in yellow.

Went to London for a family trip, due to a mix up we had to book a hotel room last-minute. This is what my two train-obsessed boys saw when they walked into our hotel room.
Two small boys, a taller one in a bright orange coat and a smaller one in a blue puffer jacket, are stood with their faces pressed against the glass of a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall window.

We're on the 12th floor. Immediately outside the window are the many platforms of a busy Waterloo train station filled with trains. Beyond the station lies the London skyline stretching from the OXO tower to the left to the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf to the right.

FWIW it's much more Joseph Wilford than Ned Stark or Boromir.
Boromir "one does not simply meme". It reads: One does not simply take a stroll through the deep dark wood.

Post your favourite Star Trek character. Wrong answers only.
Ka D'Argo, from Farscape - the most underrated Sci-fi show of all time. He looks like a cross between a Klingon and a Twi'lek.

Made a decoration for the church Christmas tree - turned out pretty good.
A Christmas tree decoration that consists of a white arch with a nativity scene at the back and a hollow inside. Inside the bottom is a small hole where a fairy light from the tree pokes through, illuminating the arc putting the nativity scene in silhouette.

Upon reading this headline: 🧠: But Elizabeth II's dead... 🧠: So is Freddie Mercury... 🧠: Oh It's... Camilla. 🗣️: "Queen Camilla" 🧠: Doesn't sound right... 🧠: Definitely Camilla. 🧠: What are the chances of two 'Q's lining up like that? 🧠: What's the rest of the headline?
A breaking headline from the BBC News app. It reads: "Queen to miss start of Qatari state visit".
