My ballot from Germany officially arrived in Orange County.
More than 500 American citizens have been wrongfully arrested/detained by ICE and that is informing my vote.
So are the tariffs.
So is the war Iran.
So are the cuts DOGE made.
So is the support by the world's richest man to one political party.
So are the concentration camps running in our name.
I became a German citizen (dual national obviously) earlier this year and I taught courses on right-wing extremism and so I know of what I speak. I am against racism, misogyny, cruelty, hypocrisy, warmongering, pedophilia, and depravity, especially by those in power.
IT IS NOT WORKING. Please vote to hold those in power responsible for their (in)actions. Think of how many decent republicans the last years have had to say "oh, I didn't see the comments the president made about letting San Diego or Los Angeles by obliterated". Bullshit. They have seen every quote and clip but can't speak what is obvious - if anyone in your life acted like that, you wouldn't want that person around you anymore or around your kids. Well, that dude has the nuclear codes and now we are all Supposed to act like Canada has been our mortal enemy for 160 years instead of our indulgent little brother. And Ukraine is at fault for being invaded?

This summer when I came home I booked separate flights to Vancouver and to California because I wasn't sure it would be safe for my white British wife to come visit the United States. If that's the case, how do you think brown, black, LGBTQ+ people and other minorities must feel in the United States right now if I was worried about her?
Please stop the madness and help people responsible adults into positions of power to help extricate ourselves from this horrible dead end by voting and guilting lazy friends to do the same.
