Disappointed you’ve not made this into an allegorical tale about the delays in the employment tribunal system.

They'd woken that morning, due to meet friends a short walk from the Twin Towers at 08:30. They felt like being lazy, however, and put the time back an hour at the last moment. I'm forever grateful for that laziness. May the memory of those murdered be a blessing to their family and friends.

I left the library when it closed, still oblivious. I walked to Holborn station and saw the photos on the Evening Standard stand. I turned on my phone and saw the frantic messages from my sister, followed by one confirming that she had spoken to my parents and they were safe.

I popped out the library for a couple of minutes in the evening to leave my sister a voicemail about dinner. I didn't check my text messages nor my missed calls. I went back in and worked, still oblivious. Nobody came in to the library to announce the earth-shattering events going on.

25 years ago it was my 2nd day at Bar School. I spent most of it in the library, working there with phone off until it closed. I didn't check any news on the Internet. I sat there til 9pm oblivious. My parents were in New York on holiday, looking forward to visiting the Twin Towers that morning.

25 years ago today it was my 1st day at Bar School. Among the crowd of fellow enthusiastic wannabe barristers, there was a short 23-year-old wearing a chalk stripe suit. I don't think he was wearing red trainers, making bad puns, or eating a Michelin star packed lunch. I wonder what happened to him?

For someone “not listening”, Farage made a heck of a lot of comments that made contextual sense in the course of the conversation to which he apparently wasn’t listening.

Trying to work out how to make these statements consistent. Where is the gap that allows something not to be wrong but to not look good, to require action and to involve saying things that shouldn't have been said?

I wonder whether Farage will be damaged more from the exposé by the potential criminality or by the fact his Guinness is topped with champagne and accompanied by half a dozen oysters.

There are a number of really important employment cases which did not find a place in the law reports for some reason. It’s rare that my skeletons don’t include a clutch of unreported cases.
