Yesterday I spent nearly five hours designing the sound for a 10-second sequence. Sometimes it takes that long to get things JUST right. If you experience Secrets of Gara next year, see if you can spot this moment!

I’m still buzzing with excitement from NewImages Festival in Paris last week. The networking, talks and panels were extremely well curated and organized, and I was thrilled to have a chance to share a bit of my own work and to moderate my first panel at such a prestigious event.

Headed to @wearenewimages.bsky.social in Paris today, where I'll be giving a talk on our process for designing MetaMovies for audience agency and emergent behavior. Can't wait, it's such an amazing festival/conference!

My favorite place to write and think: the New York Library of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Today: rewriting some of the 3d Act of Secrets of Gara, avatar visual references for the 2nd of four Hero avatars, planning Saturday’s rehearsal. Good times!

Last weekend’s playtest was a big one. Every time we bring this many people together, Secrets of Gara becomes a little more real. Huge thanks to our dev team, collaborators, and especially our playtesters — your feedback & energy is what makes this possible! Sorry for the occasional yeet 😅😂😱!

I’ve been working non-stop for over a year on my next MetaMovie, and I’m so excited for what we’re making. Building on everything we’ve learned. Creating new ways to make this an unforgettable ride. I figured it was time to start sharing bits and pieces! Our bluesky is: @themetamovie.bsky.social.

Been listening to sci-fi sound effects for eight hours and now everywhere I go I hear the pneumatic sounds of me doing everything from opening doors to making my dog's dinner.
