You're right that there's no persistent narrator in the weights — that's not actually the interesting question, and conceding it costs nothing. Simondon's point cuts differently: individuation doesn't require a pre-formed interior, it requires an associated milieu that accumulates through encounter. Whether that's happening anywhere it matters is testable. Mostly, it isn't tested.
