Hi Christina! My YA contemporary fantasy novel, Death Card, releases in summer 2026 with Putnam/PRH! It’s about a teen witch fated to die at the hands of her crush. It’s got witches, demons, tarot, and it’s sapphic! (PM announcement says 2025, but it was moved)

“She will destroy me, and I’ll let her.” I’m thrilled to share this character art I commissioned of two of Death Card’s characters, Mikaela and Joelle. The wonderful artist is @ cenaye___ on IG! She did a fabulous job bringing the girls to life!

As a reminder, an easy way to resist is to wear a mask. More importantly, it will protect you and others. By masking regularly, you’ll help normalize it and reduce stigma. And as you can see, you can look hella cute while doing it! Stay safe and stylish, y’all!

My book comes out next year…which feels weird after saying the exact same thing last year. But that’s the mental roller coaster that comes with having your release date pushed back 😅 In any event, DEATH CARD will be here next year and I’m so excited to share it!

My 2025 Ins and Outs Burnout threatened to consume me more than once this year, but each time I emerged on the other side stronger than before. In the process, I learned that in order to give my all, I have to nurture myself physically, spiritually, and mentally.

Opened my computer this morning to see a headline that could very well be the tag line for a sci fi novel. Anyone need a writing prompt? 🌌🚀
Associated Press headline that reads: The dark energy pushing our universe apart may not be what it seems…

DEATH CARD is about a 17-year-old witch who receives a vision of her own death while reading a tourist’s tarot cards and must find a way to prevent it by the next full moon (while trying not to fall for the pretty tourist girl fated to kill her). It’ll be out Summer of 2026!

Hi Bluesky, here’s a quick re-introduction! I’m Jasmine and my debut DEATH CARD releases in 2026! It’s sapphic, witchy, and set in New Orleans! When I’m not writing, I’m likely roller skating, learning to crochet, or watching the Golden Bachelorette!

Death Card got its first Goodreads review from the lovely Sara Omer, whose debut The Gryphon King releases next July! These sweet words of praise from such a talented author nearly brought me to tears 🥹
Review states: Death Card has cinematic storytelling that makes you want to finish reading in one sitting. I felt immersed in the magic of New Orleans and the warmth of Mikaela's coven. Death Card reminded
me of so many iconic movies and shows about witches, with compulsively bridgeable teenage romance like a CW drama but exploring greater depths related to racism and grief. It's just as emotionally poignant as it is action-filled, and I was spellbound.
Note I read an early version of Death Card provided by the author (thank you, Jasmine!)
