three to four prepositions that are just doing nothing but treading linguistic water. Daisy chains of "to"s and "from"s and "of"s that just run the sentence in circles! You can just use a period when the sentence is done. No need for the wind-down.

I've been seeing/hearing it everywhere lately. My running theory is that a lot of people assume that formal English grammar involves the maximum linguistic length--letters, words, syllables. So people are using prepositions almost like filler words.

A quick temp check on how my progress overall is going: I now have an estimated 18K words left and about 60 days to go. That's a cool 300 words per day on average, but I'll continue shooting for 500. That seems to be working well for me. If I can actually hit it, I can finish before Halloween! 🎃

Almost two years later to the day and I've finally cracked the code. It IS sampling a FFIX song. I was listening to the DT soundtrack on random in the car today, which has the original Battle 1 from IX on it too, and I finally heard them close enough together to connect the dots. Mystery solved!
