Getting information to patients is important... But having an algorithm that determines what you can or cannot be treated for. Or worst selling patients on meds or procedures that don't need creating a new cycle of abuse by medical insurance and how it has been designed to keep people in debt.

This is what happens when we teach our kids white-washed history in schools. The amount that I have learned about systemic racism, black history, and our country's history (good, bad, and ugly) as an adult that I was never taught in school or growing up is baffling.

Even in 1890, the massacre was controversial, which is why the US Army awarded so many of its highest award, the Medal of Honor, to soldiers involved. Most of the US casualties were likely victims of "friendly fire": since the Army had surrounded the Lakotas, the soldiers shot one another 4/

US forces surrounded a community of Lakotas along Wounded Knee Creek in 1890 and used the new invention of rapid-firing Hotchkiss cannons to kill large numbers of the population. Soldiers than pursued the survivors for miles, killing them wherever they were found. 2/

1. Women across the country have died after having miscarriages because doctors were forced to delay procedures that would have been considered an abortion. Doctors have also reported needing to delay necessary care until patients were at risk of death or permanent injury.
