Animation-wise and beyond the obvious climax, I was particularly drawn to the sequence that Ayako Minoshima likely had a hand in. Absurdly good artwork on a technical level, and I particularly like how the villain is rendered in a more tactile way to enhance the creepy vibes

pet peeve: someone tries laying out the plight of the animator in general, then as an example they bring up the grit of animators in foreign countries, and then (a seeming slight of hand) using the example of that grit to prop up modern American animation as good or important. like why’d u do that

i feel like suspension of disbelief isn’t just a response to story, but a response to design in general. if you take an animation made up of ten drawings, and switch one drawing with a traced copy, then i’d say that the animation as a whole has changed into a fundamentally different experience.

never had my own mac/macbook before i want to try one and use my ipad with it so i can run programs that the ipad cant run alone, like harmony or blender pc laptop + extending onto a screen tablet or ipad feels clunky 🤔
