I don't think I've seen all the movies all the way through more than once, and I never finished past the fourth or fifth book. Even if She Who Must Not Be Named wasn't a bigoted asshole, I don't see why they needed to turn it into a TV show.

I think there should be a Star Trek show for young kids, (and Prodigy was great but still aiming higher than Scouts is), because "gotta get them hooked young". Honestly if they stripped the technobabble and violence out of almost any episode it could be adapted to little kids.

Season 2 almost seemed to make them disappear so they could start season 3 "fresh". I feel like the series as a whole needed another run through. We could still start in the vineyard and end on the bridge of 1701-D, but in between needed some cleanup.

I've heard from multiple cast members that Gene didn't want any conflicts between our heroes at all. He wanted to basically show up on the planet of the week, solve their problem, and then warp off into the proverbial sunset.
